I just finished watching all 86 episodes of Sliders.

Years ago I watched Sliders when it was shown on Fox. I didn't get to see it as much when it went to the Sy Fy networks and didn't really see the last season at all. I recently started watching Sliders after getting Netflix. should get a medal for watching all the shows because the series ran downhill the longer it was on TV. The last year no longer had Jerry O'Connell on the show and not hearing him do the intro to the show was also a bit strange.
Have you ever watched all of a shows episodes all the way through, even though you didn't like the show as much and knew it was going downhill? (Another show I may watch that will be the same is Stargate SG-1 which was one of my favorites that went downhill after Richard Dean Anderson left.)

Ya know, I tried to watch Sliders, but I couldn't get into it.
I have a friend who also tried to watch it, actually watched quite a few episodes, but said it was annoying when they did a repeat instead of a new episode.
That, I think, is the MOST annoying thing about the "sweeps" months. When I was young, you got half a year of new episodes and then a half a year of repeats, now... you tend to only get new episodes during the new season premier, and sweeps.
The roomie watched Stargate from when it was on HBO and then to SciFi. I really liked the movie, and while I really like Richard Dean Anderson, I guess I was just more into Mac than Jack. And, yeah, that was one show that should've ended WAY before it did!

I watch Sliders when it first came out because there is so little good sci fi on TV. And when the Sy Fy channel creates a show like Defiance why do they have to keep rerunning the two hour pilot so much?
The movie is what made me want to watch the first episode of the TV show. The difference with RDA's Jack is that a good bit of his personality seemed to come from McGuyver after a while. The one casting coup I thought was having Michael Shanks play the James Spader role. I thought his Daniel Jackson was great. And now that I'm trying to see all the episodes of Farscape, I think I might hate SG-1 when I start to re-watch those shows and get to where Ben Browder comes on.

I watched both shows and agree when their big star left the shows went downhill. Another show that went downhill that wasn't a big surprise was Dallas. The show just ran to many seasons when the original ran. I still can't get over how Patrick Duffy came back in the shower and it was a dream. Personally, I wish he hadn't left, as the show was doing great until that point, then we saw sillier story lines until people started to realize the show needed to be canceled.
I miss Larry Hagman and wish he had agreed to bring the show back sooner. The new characters have been doing well and seeing many of the original cast again has been great. I'm going to look up the cast of the 2 shows you mentioned to see what they are doing now. Its good to look back at shows that had interesting story lines.

I think the shower scene was kind of a sell out to the loyal viewers. It was like, "Just forget what you've been watching and start over."
That does make me think of the last episode of the second Newhart show where Bob wakes up at the end and finds himself in bed with Suzanne Plushette, his wife from the first Newhart show. But at least Newhart was supposed to be funny.

That sounds great that u have watched so many episodes in a single go knowing the fact that show is having a downhill. i think so many changes occurs in shows whenever they come with a new season. very honestly i hardly get time to watch TV due to my work so there is no chance for me to watch any show in a single go like u have done.

The last year's worth of shows were the toughest to watch. There was only one original character left and they had to switch the narration for the beginning of the show away from Jerry O'Connell who had been the original star but quit.
