What Is Facebook's Problem with Me 'Friend Requesting' People I Don't Know?

Especially when those people are members to whom FACEBOOK-ITSELF SUGGESTED THAT I SEND AN ADD-REQUEST! I mean, I understand if people with attractive avatars get annoyed that lonely boys like me send them 'add-request after add-request' after finding them in a sea of less-lovely faces, but I didn't!
Can Facebook-members deny add-requests WITHOUT Facebook accusing the requesters of 'friend-list stuffing'? (Because there may be some past connections I want to forget whom I still "know"!)
i.e. should you include that reminder in the 'private message' Facebook lets you add? something like "I know you may not remember me, like I JUST-BARELY remember you; but--if you don't want to accept this add--at-least don't tell Facebook you 'don't know' me, PLEASE? Thank You!"

The fact is that whenever you send a friend request to anyone on facebook, facebook tend to rely on the person's action before it could process your request and in such cases when the person denies, it sends a wrong signal to facebook.
However, it is always good to send a message to complement your request especially in cases where the likelihood of rejection is envisaged.

I have tried receiving several messages from people I'm not friends with asking me to add them or asking me if i have a boyfriend or wanting to be that way, however, most of them have been sent a year ago and I've not found out about them until a few weeks ago because the messages they sent were put into another mailbox. I felt upset about it for a bit. Like why would Facebook hide away those things just because they aren't my friends. I should have at least read them or whatever.

coz many misuse it. fb doesnot want their user to be spammed or harassed by other people. its jus a preventive measure. jus try not sendin too many requests at once. u'l b f9..:)

Then why do THEY THEMSELVES SUGGEST that I SEND the friend-requests? Are they just hypocritical servants of The System like that?

I have no idea. I know they have the add a friend suggestion and I got a warning once for using it. So I don't add from there anymore.

Yeah adding a friend in facebook should be a thing to be handled with care these days. Facebook has been filled with many fake profile holders. So I think itz better to add your close friends and family members only to your profile. But If you want to make new ffriends you can have a second account to your name.....

I don't want that and if a person wants to be your friend and you domtnthinknor they don't think you would remember there is private messages but some people have that set up as only when we are friends for people to send private messages so they have to ask first to be your friend and wait for you to answer.
