Where Do You Sell Your Crafts?

I know there are quite a few of us here who are quite creative, and design stuff for others that we have sold. Some of us have been doing it for yrs. while some of us might just be getting started. But I was curious in some of the ways you have sold your Crafts that you make, maybe to give others here places to consider. Over the yrs. I have done a lot of Crocheting. I have been selling stuff I have made this way for around 27 yrs now, and at times have done fairly well. I have sold stuff to friends, to people I work with, at consignment shops, at Flea Markets, Craigslist, Ebay, Facebook, Etsy, and now at Craft shows and other events. It never seems to amaze me at some of the different things I have made, and what seems to sell for me the Best. For some reason lately I am not selling any of my stuff via Craigslist and think a lot of it is because it is harder to find these items, and think they need a New Category added. Need to relist some of my Stuff on Etsy again and try there. Just did a show this last weekend with them, and got another one coming up in about a month. I have included a picture of one of the Scarves I made and have tried to sell just so you can see a sample of some of my work. So where have you Sold at, and what is some advice you can share? ~~TINA~~

I sell on Etsy and Ebay as well as at shows. I sell some items better on line the others. The scene though hasn't been great in years. I used to go and people would buy buy buy and now they are mostly at shows to look around for ideas.

I think we have the Truth there. Due to the Economy shows and sales on Craft items hand made even online is nothing like it used to be. Wishing it would decide to pick up.

Well, since I do my crocheted items, and beef, buffalo, Turkey and chicken jerky at the events I do this helps. I honestly feel selling crocheted items is really not what it used to be. But I have a show coming up on Saturday and then am supposed to do one or two later thismonth, and then probably at least 2 next month.

You have mentioned the.best places where you can sell yoyr stuff. And I guess, joining bazaars every month could be a big.hit, too. Have you tried joining school events wherein parents are allowed to rent a stall and sell anything? I think that would also be a great exosure for yoyr stuff. And maybe you should continue on consigning them, too. Or better.yet, ask a fellow seller to.sell it for you from which they could earn from it, too.

Yes, the jerky I sell unless you have an apo address is only available here in the us. All of a sudden this is keeping me so busy with working full time, I have little time for anything else.

Well, a show I can do once a month, is a bus barn bonanze held in a school bus barn area. It is usually a hit and miss depending on how many people show up. But I have sold some of my crocheted items there. I am glad I also have my beef buffalo.chicken and Turkey jerky to help out at the times where no one wants to buy any of my crocheted items. And I do not know where I can put any of my crochet items on consignment otherwise I might consider trying it again.

So you sell food, too? Wow! Those food that you have mentioned surely made me hungry. I wish i could taste them however, I am so far away from you. Anyway, I am sure that if you will get more active with joining shows, then that would be really great way to earn.

Well, unfortunately around here, there are not many flea markets anymore. I know back when I used to be a permanent vendor at one, I had some of my stuff there too.

I sell it to friends. Some are online thru sites available here or in my place. I posted some of stuff and directly give my contact number for them to give an order or buy. Other of my old things is given to unfortunate indigenous people who are victims of bad calamity like floods and typhoon.

Well, I do a lot of shows, and do pass out Business cards all the time. I also show my stuff via Facebook, Craigslist, people at work and church etc. Just always trying to find more ways to still move more of the stuff as well.

Hi! I am not a knitter, but have had great success with the Knifty Knitter. I already posted about this to another lady. There are groups online for this knifty knitter and some people I've personally met are so good, they can even do fancy irish cabeling with them. Anyway, just to let you know that I've personally met women who belong to a crochet group (I'm an artists so meet many people), who make ipod, phone, Ipad covers and sell them on Etsy and ebay with great success. Knitting is not my talent, even with the knifty knitter. However, they have sold their covers for up to 30.00 each. Give it a try, look into just selling that one thing.

Well, I have had stuff on Etsy before, and need to relist there if it is still Free to list. I hate Ebay so refuse to ever list there again. But am needing to get more pictures of stuff I have done so I can list it places for sure.

I hear you as time is quite limited for me as well. It takes me a while now to make items, but since I have not sold anything in a while, I guess I am not in a real hurry to make much more. But earning extra money is my main concern with my real business online and offline for sure.

I used to sell on consignment at a couple of good shops here and sold to individuals now and then. I also worked for a place that sold hand knitted women's sweaters for premium prices. They would give us yarn and patterns and pay for each finished piece. It paid pretty well. I did that with a women who sold baby sweaters, too. The most satisfying work I ever did was in designing knitting patterns. I didn't do many because they were time consuming and I was raising a family, but I really enjoyed it.

This sounds like fun, and I am sure was quite rewarding. I know what used to be ways to earn back in the day people do not want to do or appreciate as much anymore. I still would love to be one who could maybe run a consignment type place where I would make a percentage of what others stuff sells for.

Hi Tina, Is crocheting easier than knitting? I have tried knitting a couple of times and have not caught on, but I do make jewelry, sewing and quilting. I love taking quilting and sewing. I am hoping to continue to keep up with my sewing and quilting and eventually sell things. I am looking at selling on ecrater and I heard that facebook has a site where you can sell things. I have not used Esty and Craigslist's is kind of a scam at times.

Well, it is true that you do have to watch Craigslist these days as there are a lot of Scams on there. Just like there are Scams now on Facebook. But I try about anywhere usually and at times, do OK. And yes, for me, Crocheting is easier than knitting and I think you can do a lot more with it as well.

I have made smaller afghans before, but nothing bigger. Since I usually do not like making bigger projects I guess is why I have never done this. But making things for gifts I have done this before and some of these are often respected the most. But I enjoy crocheting and having someone like it well enough to want to buy it.

Hello! I also love selling the stuff I create. I use several site like blomming, ebay, artesanum, misshobby and so on. There are a lot of them on the net. Unfortunately not many people buy from internet, so I often give my stuff away..

I personally sell a lot of my items by word of mouth. I make my father a lot of hats and he's always out on the road (he's a truck driver) and has sold some of my stuff for me that way. I've also tried etsy and I've been wanting to try Ebay but have never gotten around to it. I knew someone that had labels printed for the items she makes; they have her business name on them, so when she sells them, other's also know where they got them, she's gotten her name out a lot that way. I've heard craft shows/fairs are really good too, that same lady sells a good amount of items at those shows. :D

I sell my crochet items on eBay, many people that crochet don't know that they can sell their crochets on eBay. Make Money Online by Crocheting Items - Learn to Crochet for Money http://hubpages.com/hub/Crochetformoney

I sell them at craft fairs as you know....at work ....and by word of mouth. I have a friend that took some of my cards to her work and got a bunch of orders..my sister in law also showed them to her friends and they ordered a bunch too....now even after the last craft sale I did last weekend....I am still selling things...I delivered and order on Thursday....have two poems..one I need to deliver and one they are picking up....then another lady wants the headbands my daughter crocheted and they are going to order a bunch for next Christmas.....Word of mouth has worked so good for me....I have had no luck whatsoever selling on line..

Etsy is one I know they use. There was one talking about a craft show but those are expensive and you have to pay for a place at one. At godaddy.com you can start your own website. There are probably other places too but those are all I know of right off the top of my head.

The only place that I've ever really had any luck with selling any of the crafts that I've made is at craft shows. However, I do know that there are a lot of different options of places that you are able to sell your crafts these days. I've personally never thought about trying Craig's List, but I can see how that would be a great option. There is also Etsy and your own storefront on Ebay that are viable options as well. I also had a babysitter that did a lot of crochet and she always had really good luck with selling some of her creations in yard sales.

The only place I have ever sold my crafts was at craft shows or to friends and relatives. I want to get back into doing crafts and need to start looking at the different options available to sell them.
