I always go to the same doctor and the importance of family doctor is very important in medical field. Giving good treatment, and importantly, the right treatment, is the most important duty of a doctor. But not many are quite happy about the way doctors go about treating them.Some doctors are exploiting the patients and in the prevailing harsh conditions for both the patients and doctors, the concept of a family doctor becomes significant. Another disturbing aspect these days are the complaints that are made about "medical mafias.'' There are umpteen cases in which patients have alleged that hospitals and testing laboratories gang up to fleece them. In the prevailing situation here, it is a family doctor who can help save the patient from unnecessary tests and get him good treatment.He can recommend a patient to a good specialist doctor, if the need arises. Referring cases to hospitals helps doctors there as well as the patient. If the general physician is somebody with a personal touch, he or she can provide moral support for the patient who goes to receive specialist treatment.
