Abortion: Is it okay?

I was talking to a pregnant teen and discovered that she just recently found out she was pregnant so, she was trying to decide whether she was going to carry it or abort it. All I could think was, "how could you even question the life of a child?". You're carrying a little life inside of you, a new part of you, and you could still question taking that little life's chance to make something great of itself, it's chance to experience it's life and first breath of air.
After doing a little research, I learned some things about pregnancy and a babies development. Did you know a heart beat is one of the first thing a baby develops? Others try to justify abortion by saying "well it's not like they're living yet". Where there is a heart beat there is life.
I know there may be some disagreement. Like what if the baby was an accident and you can't afford it, but there's always adoption, government assistance, and family. You don't have to take your child's life. What is your opinion on abortion? Do you think it's okay or do you think it's murder?

I'm for prolife which means the choice to live. I agree the moment that and egg and sperm meet successfully and the cell starts dividing that a life was made. By law they say an unborn baby isn't a life till it takes his or her first breath. I say it starts away before then. Yes you won't be able to hear a baby's heart beat till about 6 to 8 weeks of gestation when a baby starts looking like a baby.
I could never end my pregnancies by choice. Yes I've gotten pregnant before I wanted and with protection but I can see my life with out my daughter and son. I was meant to have them in my life and I believe that every day. I don't care if I'm poor or not they are always mine from the second I say a pregnancy test and it was positive.

abortion is not okay because when u going at a abortion place you are gonna feel scared and then when u are gonna feel pain and blood is gonna be running down your legs and will die from that you will crying out tears please all the teens out there don't do it take my advice it might be helpful.

I think,this subject has been avoided, debated on, and criticized greatly over the years. There are so many different opinions on the idea of abortion .I am totally against it and for me it like a murder only.In some situations abortion may be the right thing,if it is the life of a mother or in some rape cases it is unavoidable.

I found out that around 98% of abortions in my home country are for social or economic reasons. Those are the ones that could have adopted so the baby would have been able to be born alive.
Just 3% of babies were aborted due to the baby being severely disabled or the mother to be had her life in danger or the lady conceived the baby in a criminal attack. Those are the unusual ones which are especially emotional. It was not the baby's fault.
I wouldn't ever have an abortion. I let my disabled baby be born and now he is a happy little 5 year old boy. Hospitals should not pressure a lady to abort her baby if he or she is disabled. A disabled person is just as lovely as a normal person.
I think abortion is wrong and many ladies deeply regret having one. The clock can't be turned back. A baby can be a wonderful being to come into life.

Of course it's the murder of helpless unborn baby.Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control.In my opinion the only time when abortion is justifiable or should be legal,is if the mother or the baby's life is in danger.It is just wrong to take the baby's life because the mom made a stupid decision.

There was a time I thought it was not ok but I did change my mind if it comes to that. There are way too many children abused, neglected, broke, beaten up, without food, seriously ill. Way too many mothers who are single, dumped by the father (after all these ages men still can walk out as if this doesn't concern them), finacially unstable, broke, with big health issues, no future, no job/income, or dying after the birth. A child is a big responsibility and it's hard to raise it with a good education, in good health, without being bullied, etc etc. If you know yourself, your own health, possibilities, etc. there is nothing wrong with this decision. Which is a personal decision but also taken with a doctor in most cases (esp. in those countries like mine where it's legal! You can't just say: let's have an abortion). I don't think it's murder since the soul is just using that body and will go to an other. The soul lives forever, so is not lost.

I think it's murder, but whether or not it is the right action to take depends on the person. We can't judge for other people...they have their own reasons. I have serious issue, however, with late term abortions, where the fetus is actually at a viable age and is literally delivered, but killed before it takes its first breath. This is seriously testing the boundaries on right and wrong, and completely (imo) heinous. If a heart is beating, yes it is a live. If a heart is not beating, it is still living tissue. There are big arguments out there on what constitutes life. One cannot deny that if a child is self-aware, it is wrong. Again though, it's personal choice.

We have the same sentiments on this. And people who resort to abortion have clouded thoughts coz of either their age, status in life or just plainly doesn't want to have a child. I just hope that instead of them getting rid of the baby, that they put it up for adoption instead so that the baby will have a chance to have a better life.

Hi friend...an abortion that happen because of medical reason is okay, but if it is not, it is murder. I don't agree with abortion cases that are caused by relationship out of marriage, while they cannot responsible on their actions, so they want to remove their fetus. I think it is a violation on freedom of live. In my country, there are many abortion cases that violate freedom of live, but it is difficult to found the performer. So, abortion still happen although hidden.

I'm against abortion's regardless a lot of people try to change my mind.A friend of mine from school was with every guy who ever wanted her and i told her she should be safer.Her mother warned her she would have to give the baby up for adoption if she did get pregnant.She didn't get pregnant until she turned 19.She did all this gross stuff after she found out like drinking and smoking and she ended up getting an abortion, shortly after she was seeing guy after guy again and a year later got pregnant again.I stopped being friend's with her because i found it sickening that she was dumb enough to get pregnant twice knowing she didn't want a baby.
