Can pushups hepls to lose weight for women?

I am now over weight, and thinking about losing weight by taking exercise. I don't want to run or walk outside. And I do want to have dinner. I want to know if pushups can help lose weight? If yes, how many reps should I do in each set? Are you fellows do pushups to lose weight? Does it work?

I think maybe just a little... push-up train our bicep and chest muscles, so the fat in that area will be burnt. When i was in college, my friend who was an athlete said that the best way to lose weight is to run. I think what he said was right, because i tried it myself and it actually work.

Thanks for your suggession, I will try to run at dusk, it will be more effective than doing this on morning, right?

I don't think there's no difference when you do it, weather it's in the morning or dusk... probably air quality is a little bit better in the morning.
