Did you succeed to train your cat to use the toilet?

cat - cat uses the toilet

In the past our cats just used the litter box. So we don't have cats now because we live in an apartment. But I am surprised to see that some people can train the cats to use the toilet. If so, that will be so convenient and we may have a cat at home again. I also find the relevant information via the net. I just wonder did somebody really succeed to train a cat to use the toilet?

I have to keep my bathrooms shut because too many - well, ONE is too many - of my cats like to tear up the toilet paper! I can see, if you have one cat, or maybe two, training them, but I just don't see bothering to train my brats...

I just wonder whether this training will be easy.

I think it depends on the cat. My smart cats could probably easily figure it out, my dumb ones would probably fall in...

I've never had indoor cats (and no cats at all at the moment). I have seen videos of cats (and dogs and even parrots) using the toilet but I don't know how they were trained

Of course it needs some patience to train the pets.

If God had wanted cats to use the toilet, then he would have given them thumbs, how can a cat use a toilet if it can't physically flush the chain after it's been?

I think it will be good enough if the cat can use the toilet. I can flush it for it

I'm in the process of doing this. I'm having mixed results with my four. Two of the boys have learned the stance the other two prefer the tub. The female wants to drink from the toilet, still. They had a couple health issues that slowed us down. The kit has a companion kit for multi-cat households. It comes with a video and says you can do it in eight weeks. You have to use flushable litter because some will end up in the toilet. I recommend getting them used to the flushable litter before getting the kit. I use Feline Pine original, it's the most reasonably priced in my area. The first sack smelled strong of pine for a few days, but after that there was no smell. They also say you can add the used litter, which looks like saw dust, to your compost or use it as mulch. Oh, and I live in an apartment too.

I saw this in an Internet video once. Pretty amazing. I think our cat Mister with his unique fore-paws could master the flusher. He has seven toes on each of his front feet and can grip things like a small hand. I'm not sure we're ready to try and train him to do this though. Although it would save money on kitty litter.

As much as I love my cats I wouldn't want them on my toilet! I've never tried it but have seen where some people have succeeded in doing it.
