People and the Zoo

I agree with you. rather than buy animals to let people see them. A zoo should take care of injured or problems animals. Then let them back into their nature wold.

Hello - When I was younger, I believed all zoos should be closed because they were cruel. As I get older I realise that I was wrong. Zoos are not only places to view animals or think of them as prisoners. Zoos do vital work in conservation or species and education. All those children being taken to the zoos and seeing the different animals does more for conservation than poaching bans and cute pandas on TV. Good post Cmania

A zoo is (Always) once started as a private collection of animals. Mostly animals who are not living in the country of the owner. Seldom the owner of the zoo has plenty of knowledge of the animals. If you read the history of many zoo's it's even disgusting the way they treated the animals. How less the ones who had to take care of the animals knew about their habits. How animals been killed just because the human being thinks it's behaviour is abnormal. I feel pity for the animals in a zoo. Also because the breeding is mostly just there to attract visitors, if the season is over, the young animals can not stay or there is no other zoo who wants them they will be food for the predators. I never visit zoo's anymore. Been in too many, have been working there and it's depressing to see how most animals have to live and how their behaviour is changed. There is no need to keep animals who are in danger in a zoo. This is nature. Nature is able to take care of it self if human being would not interfere day and night thinking he knows the best.

Zoos are kinda for making money and also so we can see animals in real life.
