My son's learning support assistant is around 27 years old and she is married to her husband. They live in a house and have 3 pet dogs. They booked a vacation in October 2012 for March 2013. She can only go on a vacation outside of term time. There vacation is to Tunisia and it should be lovely at Easter time. She wasn't planning to get pregnant however she did get pregnant in January 2013. Their travel agent and her doctor said she is safe for the vacation. In 2009 I was 18 weeks pregnant with my daughter. My son was 20 months old at the time we traveled to Cape Town and the Garden Route. Our flight was delayed for 5 hours and then its duration was 12 hours. We had a wonderful time seeing that amazing city. I loved seeing Table Mountain and Camp Cove. The Garden Route was incredibly picturesque. Do you think it is safe for a lady to travel when she is pregnant? What sort of things should a lady make sure she does to stay safe? Which stage of pregnancy is best for traveling in your opinion?

In my opinion, long distance travelling is inappropriate for a pregnent woman but the walk is necessary.

Welcome to My Lot. It was a 12 hour flight that I went on at 18 weeks pregnant on my journey London to Cape Town. I had a minimal time zone change and it was summery weather there. It was a lovey escape from cold January weather in my home country. On a night flight it is possible to sleep sometimes.

Traveling by plane at the age of 4-7 month of pregnancy is quite safe. As long as the mother is always taking care on they health, by take adequate rest, and eat balance nutritious diet. But, if the mother does not sure that she is healthy, it is a good idea if she stay at home and postpone their planning for vacation. Have a nice day.

Yes, after 16 weeks pregnancy is the safest if the pregnant lady feels well enough. I agree that a pregnant lady should maintain eating a superbly healthy diet. I hope that she has a wonderful time in Tunisia and I know she has always wanted to go to Africa. Have a lovely day.

Of course she was married to her husband. I mean would she be married to someone else? If she got a divorce, and was now single or her husband, you could say she was married to her husband at that time. Now I think the early stages of pregnancy one has to be careful and also if she is at high risk. Otherwise it would be safe.

I know that airlines will nor let women fly ifter some weeks of pregnancy although I don`t know the limit. But I would also ask my doctor. Each case is different and each pregnancy is different too. And just as your last pregnancy was difficult at the time of childbirth, other pregnancies are different at other stages.

Hello Marguicha. A lady expect her life to continue as normal then she can become pregnant by surprise. Yes, every pregnancy is different and unfortunately Leos' learning support assistant had a scary time with unexplained stomach pain a couple of weeks ago. I know she had time off work and I assumed it was her poorly knee. She had to go to hospital for a scan and tests to see what was wrong. Travel insurance wording, what the doctor says and the airline rules all matter. If I was pregnant and I felt well I would be happy to travel around 18 to 25 weeks pregnancy. One other My Lot member said she had a premature labor. I wish every pregnant lady has an easier birth that I did with Amber.
