See this dog named Zanjeer, a golden Labrador, it saved thousands of lives during the serial bomb blasts in the city in March 1993 by detecting more than 3,329 kgs of the explosive RDX, 600 detonators, 249 hand grenades and 6406 rounds of live ammunition.
He was buried with full honors during a ceremony attended by senior police officials.
A senior police officer lays a floral wreath.
What is your opinion about pet dogs and trained dogs?
They can not only sniff bombs but save life of drowning persons, persons who are going to have heart attacks; I was told.

Do you have a pet dog and any other pet animals or birds?
They have such power.
Please respond, comment on this story and share your experience and views.
Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. B.Saraf. PhD.
Cheers have a lucky day ahead. March 22nd 2013.

Dogs are wonderful animal, it is not surprised to see and read some of the amazing things they can do to save human life. Their distinctive and superior sense of smell has provided many helps to the law enforcement agency, their loyalty to the owners are second to none. I used to have a dog many years ago, but he is gone now after contracted deadly disease. It is a very sad for me.

hello Professor! we have two two year old dogs. they are the best guard dogs and the most lovable companions in the house. my 82 year old mom love them very much.
dogs need to be trained to heed to even the basic commands like sit or stay so they wont become unruly and "spoiled"

In the animal kingdom dogs are the most intelligent animal and given the right training they can amaze us with their brilliance. I am dog lover myself and I have 6 lovely terriers under my care. Though I have not send them for any dog training but they seem to be quite intelligent. There was a report saying that having pet dog could help us live longer. The reason maybe dogs bring cheers to its master which indirectly chase away stress.

You are so right about dogs. I love my dog because he is really intelligent and helpful. Sometimes my dog seems to understand everything I tell him. He was not trained and is quite old now. I wished he had been trained as he would have been a great dog for searching or hunting. I'm sad I will lose him one day. I also have a cat and it was so funny when my dog used to announce us with a bark my cat's arrival from the neighborhood. He did this because we used to call out loud the cat to come to feed.

It is indeed a man's bestfriend. Dogs need us and of course, we need them. A give and take relationship between dog and human that is why they give us many advantage, but for those people who abuse dog, there is a possibility that a dog might become a threat to a society.

I am really amazed at how these dogs could do such things. Coz we know that they do not possess a brain like ours, but they manage to save lives of people.
We have a pet dog. He is big, yet sweet.

I have one dog and one cat. I think dogs that are trained as service dogs to help people that need the help. Are a great thing and all of us should be grateful that dogs are such good and loyal pets to have and train in the way that we want them to be trained.

Hi Prof...Dogs are the animal with many advantages, other than their sense of smell, they included as smart animal. They can receive some lessons from their master. They also faithful.
Currently, I have not dogs, but in the past, my grandfather has a smart dog. He always wake up my grandfather in the morning by licking grandfather's legs. He also help my grandfather chasing the thief in the night. I am very impressed with his action.
