i have informed that my husband is home. he will be here for few months, he said he will not miss observing this HOLY FESTIVAL. he has observedt this festival of colors in house of our friend Prof Bhuwan. now he says, we will observe this festival in Davao with our indian friends. tomorrow, we will buy the color, colored powder etc from Laxmi Store here the owner is indian. I am excited we will be applying colored powder on checks of friends and throw colored water too using a pump like device, he said they call it-pichkari hope there are places other than india, where this is observed. it is like christmas celebration due to its merriment. now... i will be having two christmasses in one year. Any idea about this please share ann

Honey I am glad to know you will be celebrating holi festival there, in fact it is a 'holy'festival, connected with God Krishna and his 'Gopis' i mean female companions, who considered HIM as husband. I am sure you will enjoy it to the fullest, one thing you must buy herbal colors, herbal color powders we call 'phagu' The markets here is full of cheap chinese stuff; all contain chemical dyes.

There is no such celebration here that is similar to the holy festival that you are talking about. However, it does sound like this holy festival would be something that would be a lot of fun to celebrate. For us, the main celebrations that we experience during the course of a year are Christmas and Easter although Independence Day is also a pretty big celebration as well. I guess it is because of the lack of major celebrations during the year that we all make such a big deal out of birthdays.

Happy Holi -- Whish You A Happy Holi - Happy Holi -- A festival of Mathura and Vrindavan and Barsana and Inda
It is a wonderful, rather colorful festival which spread love and happiness... Especially the festival Holi is related with India and that too with Mathura...You know the lord Krishna.... Holi of Vrindavan and Barsana...actually I have had a lot of discussion about it...please check out, maybe it will be useful... http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2504845.aspx?p=2 Although, I also discussed something negative there... Happy Holi!
