I Need Help

There is a bake sale coming up for our local senior center so want to make some cakes for them. I know bundt cakes are a huge favorite but they seem kind of boring for an Easter bake sale.
I'm out of ideas 
Know making a peanut butter cake and an almond, dutch chocolate....then I'm creatively bankrupt on what else. Please Note, cakes are my passion - I do not make pies.
Have looked online and there isn't anything that peaks my interest and/or not looking for something that will take a few hours to decorate (I know demanding aren't I 
).
Looking for original, but not too weird that people won't buy it.
Can you help me out with suggestions? What's your favorite cake? Is there anything you specifically look for at a bake sale?

For my dad's 70th made an elaborate cake that looked like an ocean and waves and a little boat with lego people in it. He's a loves to fish so it was pretty fun.
I love to make cakes but the time involved......might have to spend a few nights in the kitchen, these suggestions have got me excited again.

it may look elaborate, but honestly it was easy to make and coming from a chef that cooks, I am NOT a good baker, at all! If I can do it, so can you. Trust me. The picture I attached here is a cupcake but you could easily enlarge it to a cake. Now this one is simple, basic piping around the edges,eggs and some kind of a bunny ornament from the Dollar Store

How about small or large, egg shaped cakes of whatever kind you want, decorated to look like Easter Eggs?

Colored icing, sprinkles, all kinds of decorative things.............When my boys were small we would make easter egg cakes and use up the left over cookie decorations from Christmas! It was great fun.

Id make a pineapple upside down cake. They have always sold good for me. Give it a try..
