Tuck an approriate picture in your house everyday. Then invite the attention of your kids to it by saying, What does the picture tells? Kids must say something orally first. They must be made to voice out as many answers as they liked. After the oral recitation, require older kids to write on a piece of paper at least 2 answers in words or sentences of what they were talking orally. To avoid monotony, vary the activity by posting a different picture each day.
Consider this as an enrichment to school work, not a repetition. At an early age their listening, talking and writing vocabulary are given an early stage of development. If pursued, children entering high school and college will not find life so hard and strange because of the vast stock of knowledge in the form of listening, talking and writing vocabulary they've mastered. Development of the power of critical thinking which is basic to attain success in a very competitive society begins in the grades when a person is still young. What's your comment on this topic?

Your suggestion is well taken. When teaching things to children, we must begin where they are. The teaching or learning unit must be suited to their level. This is to let them enjoy and derived pleasure from the activity. If we give them hard lessons the tendency is for them to dislike the activity. They'll crawl back to their shells because they can't understand the problem and can't derive pleasure.
