Free PC Bible Study Download

March 24, 2013 7:01am CST
Does anyone know if there is a free downloadable PC Bible Study and/or Illumina? I used to have both in my laptop, until my laptop of almost six years got busted. I had only PC Bible Study installed on my netbook because Illumina can't be possibly installed due to netbook's small screen. It couldn't register biblical maps and other pictures and media on the screen. But recently, I needed to reformat the netbook, and lo and behold, I lost my PC Bible. What I really learned to love about this software is the bible commentary by someone whose name I forgot already. I'm really looking for a free download of this complete and comprehensive tool for an extensive bible study. Hard copies are expensive.

Hello, I haven't tried those software yet, but the most common free Bible tool that I usually hear or read on the web, is e-sword.

I couldn't find the particular pc bible study software that I'm lookingnfor at e-sword. Actually, it wasn't me who looked for it and installed in my netbook. My husband did. And I like the software very much because of the many commentaries, different bible translations, dictionaries, maps, concordance, bible studies, sermons, media, pictures of Israel and many more. I like e-sword too but it's an online tool.

The software you are looking for is NOT available free. The recommended retail price is over $600 but you can find discounted copies slightly cheaper at Amazon, for example (where you may be able to find a second-hand copy), and here: http://www.discountbible.com/bible-study-software/biblesoft.html . iLumina is now out of print. However, it is listed both new and second-hand here: http://www.amazon.com/Tyndale-House-iLumina-Interactive-Encyclopedia/dp/B00006IJRJ You should note that any free download would be illegal and in contravention of copyright restrictions.

I just saw the site. It's not free indeed. I actually have Illumina that my seafarer friend bought abroad. But I couldn't use it in my netbook. I am aware of copyright restrictions and thank you for reminding me. But are free downloads okay for as long as they're used for purely personal purposes?

i have not tried that maybe because i am just lazy to read those things. but i do have bible on my mobile phone and tablet. and i just let it play or read itself so i don't have to read it myself. though i need to be online or have the wifi on . but when i want bible study or teachings , i rather it have it in video taken on seminars or the church . so i can see who is teaching and i could feel that i am like part of the bible study. i do choose or look in youtube. there are some pastors whose teaching were available on youtube.

I have a Bible in The New Living Translation and highly recommend reading it, I downloaded it from torrent. When listening to this translation you have the impression it is read by a skilled theatre workers, professional actors. I can send this torrent file to your email adress. But as to the software I do not know.
