Hello, myLotters! I was myLotting and I was typing a long response to someone. After I finished typing, I pushed the ''post response'' and...surprise! What I got wasn't the page with ''tag your response''...was the page for typing response, with the response box clear :(...I checked also the page of discussion, and my response wasn't there. It dissapeared! Now I'm trying to remember how I typed the answer...because my English it's not very good, it takes me a little time to type a long message in which I want to be understood... Has something like this happened to you too?

There could be a couple of reasons for this. The first is just a 'glitch' which happens occasionally and there is little that you can do about it. It is very annoying when it happens but, as MysDianaIT says, you can use the 'Back' button if you are using Chrome. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work in Firefox or IE. The second is a known 'feature'. MyLot doesn't allow you to type any HTML tags and, if you do, it will simply blank out the response box when you press 'post'. By HTML tags, I mean practically anything enclosed in angle brackets (''). You can include spaces like this: '' but you cannot type it as correct HTML. There may be certain other combinations of characters which are not allowed (but I haven't discovered them yet). There are also certain words which are not allowed but if you use them, you get a red warning message telling you that the word is not allowed and prompting you to edit the text.

Well, I have not encountered such problem yet and I hope it will not happen that often. This is because I cannot do copy and paste and it will be difficult to retype the text if it has gone missing. Even though I may be able to save it in the clipboard but I would not be able to paste the text again.

hi yume11 welcome to mylot. This is a really exasperating glitch of mylot and now I have learned to copy my post to the clipboard and if I need to then I can hit paste. This is the only way I know of saving ones response from the gremlins or whatever that eats up ones post, good luck. At least it does not happen all the time so thats one plus.

Hi Hatley, It is so good to hear that you could do copy and paste. This function is really useful when we encounter such glitch which you have mentioned. I hope one day I would be able to do that too. Having to retype the text is no fun [em]doh[/.em]. And I hope I do not have to face such problem often.

Ya i know what you saying but i mean thats very minor things. Your grammer's not bad at all. You almost always put your words in order. My dad visited Romania . How is it there these days ?

Maybe because of the internet connection yume11 :) We cannot copy paste here since we have not yet reached the 500 response. :) Don't worry about your English proficiency, mine also is not that good. What's important is that the reader can understand your comment :)

Once, just to try it out, when the prompt came out saying that I can't paste anything, I checked the checkbox that asks if I do not want additional dialogs/prompts to appear. Then I tried to paste something on the box, and I was able to paste it and post it. But I'm nowhere near 500 yet.

I had the same problem. I typed a long rensponse and it vanished. But I was not logged in, I thought I can post and login on the fly. So I would like to ask you the same question, were you logged in?

Yes, I was logged in :). I think it was because I typed in my response some HTML characters, as owlwings said. Thank you for your response!^^

That has happened t o me as well, and that was because I accidentally delted my post, not realizing. It also has happened when my post wasn't accepted becasue I had a word or words that weren't acceptable. I do need to start saving my posts too, so that I don't lose them. I think that after this discussion, I am going to start doing just that. Take care, and have a very good day.

That also happens to me a lot of times. So when that happens, usually i don't respond anymore but move on to others. I notice that with Chrome, my answer will still be there when i hit the back button. But with firefox, it's gone.

It happens sometimes, myLot takes ages to load. It can be very frustrating for someone who has taken his time to think and write out a lengthy response. But one has to learn from the experience and be careful the next time. All such glitches have been reported to myLot and hopefully they will be addressed as the update the site sometime soon.

I remember a day when MyLot was I think having a technical issue with the website. All my comments were not going through. On that day, there was not even one message that was posted. But in your case, try to check your internet connection. If the problem is not with the site then it might be on your connection. I hope your problem get fixed soon.

What do you use to access myLot? This also happened to me a few times, but only when I was using my phone. It has never happened to me while using a laptop/desktop. I was surprised when it happened and was slightly annoyed since I typed a long post through my phone, which takes quite longer than typing on an ordinary keyboard. Most of the time myLot works on my phone, though.

Oh dear your doing right work and when you see the message "tag your response" then you right little title of your response your reply will complete. English is very vast language and no one is perfect in it. And no one is perfect in any work. We think that somebody is perfect but he knows very well that how much perfect he is, so don't take tension and do your work happily.

yes, this has happened to me before. i think it's some sort of glitch in the system. i think all you have to do is press your back button and resubmit your response.

That has happened to me quite a few times and it's really annoying when you spend a while on a response that you have put a lot of thought and effort into and it just disappears. Once I reached 500 posts or whatever is necessary to be allowed to copy and paste, I started copying every response before I post it so that if it disappeared I merely have to paste it into the box and post it again though in fairness a post of mine hasn't disappeared for a long time.

Always copy your posts that way if something happens (because it tends to) then you can always just paste it again :) always keep back ups for anything you do. I hope this helps as much as it helped me .
