Since a year I re* discovered how much I love reading books. I've read most of Stephen King's books. In fact I love this genre. But I also totally into the "Millennium Trilogy" by Stieg Larsson who died after the third chapter was out. It's very interesting and well written.
I'm reading the third book, so it take me a little to know how the story ends! It's a bit sad because I would love to read other books of him but it's impossible.
I also read some books of Petros Markaris. They are thriller like the ones of Andrea Camilleri and his Commissario Montalbano! Aw, I love them a lot!
When I will finish this one, I think I will read the new of Alicia Gimenez-Bartlett and her police woman Pedra Delicado! :)
What are your favorite kind of books? have you ever read one of those I talked about?

Hello
I used to be an avid reader but I have to admit that lately I have not been reading as much. I also love Stephen King. I enjoy very much his strange and alluring genre. I do not know Stieg Larsson or Petros Makaris. What kind of books do or rather did they write? I also enjoy Leon Uris, Peter Straub and Arthur Hailey. You have to remember that I am getting on in age, so I do not know the brand new and young writers. I also used to read a lot in French being French-Canadian first but I have to say that now I am more English than French due to the fact that I live in a bilingual city. Anyway it was nice to write down a few insights and thoughts. Thank you very much for starting this discussion.

For sci-fi books, I'd rather watch the movie. It seemed more exciting and dramatic. You can't really appreciate what's happening in the story if the stuff are new and unfamiliar. At least, in the movie, they can make stuff shiny and cool. And of course, the action is probably more thrilling especially when aliens are chasing humans and vice versa.

I've read some of Stephen King's books but not all of them. I've never read any of the other authors you mentioned. Right now I am reading Clive Cussler's books. I've collected all his novels and am currently reading through his Dirk Pitt adventures. I am officially a fan of his work. Not only do I like reading fiction but non-fiction as well. I particularly like to read about history, of which World War II is my favorite history subject.

Clive Cussler writes adventure novels. His Dirk Pitt Adventures all, in some way, take place on or around the ocean. Mr. Cussler is an accomplished ocean explorer and discoverer of shipwrecks. So, his character, Dirk Pitt, is an expert of the sea. Cussler's novels remind me of the Indiana Jones films of the 1980's in that they are full of endless adventures and thrills and are just plain fun entertainment.

I too love reading books. Reading a book is one way to pass the spare time very fast. If one has two hour of spare time, then it can go very slowly. But if one reads a book, that spare time will go very fast.
Reading books has always been my hobby. I like it very much. Recently I read a book of Stephen King. Stepen king has definitely a very unique style of writing.

I'm no longer the novel-reading type today, but when I was younger, I used to read some bestselling novels by James Clavell and the classics.
Nowadays, I read trade books which I buy from a used bookstore. Recently, I bought several books on U.S. politics. I like to read what Republicans and Democrats are saying about or, more precisely, against each other. There are a lot of interesting stories there.

I love reading books too. My favor authors are stephen king and Nora Roberts. I love their books. Currently I am reading Fifty Shades of Grey Triology then after this series I plan on getting Hunger Games Triology. Then I'll read my thriller books I ordered awhile ago. I read on my kindle instead of going to the library. I could read all day long if I put my mind to it. But I have to get up n walk or do something in between because my body gets sore just sitting there for long period of time. Enjoy your reading.

I like Stephen King's books, but I haven't read all of them. I especially like the short stories that he wrote when several years ago. I have also read a new collection of short stories, but I liked his old stories better. My husband really, really likes the "Millennium Trilogy" by Stieg Larsson. He says that they are some of the best books he has ever read. I haven't read them myself, but I have thought about reading them. It could be interesting to find out if I enjoy them as much as my husband did.
I love books that surprice me for the instance O Henry's stories, "After the hole" and "Sophie" by Guy Burt, "The wasp factory" by Iain Banks, "The last girl" by Penelope Evans or "Shutter island" by Dennis Lehane. I also also like to read horror stories and I have read many different ones. I recently read some of the horror stories by Arhur Conan Doyle and I liked them a lot. Most people think about Sherlock Holmes when they hear his name, and the other stories are less wellknown, but I like them a lot.

My favourite types of books tend to be non fiction history books. At the moment I am reading Winston Churchill's history of the second world war. It's a very interesting book because of his position at the centre of global events and because of him being a good author as well as being one of the best world leaders ever. Since I have read this I am definitely going to read more of his literary works, he did a lot of writing when he was out of office.

I've read a lot of instructional/self-help books, but have recently decided to read more for pure pleasure.
I love sci-fi/fantasy, mysteries and biographies. I also love animals, including dragons. Currently I'm reading, and loving, Mercedes Lackey's Jouster series. I'm in book two. She needs a better proofreader, but I'm really loving how they're raising baby dragons, from eggs.

I've just gotten back into the habit of reading as well. I was startled to see how few books I read last year, so I just made a challenge for myself :). I wanna read 100 books this year - I've already read 34, so I'm doing pretty good :D.
I have only heard about Stephen King and Stieg Larsson out of the bunch you've listed, but I haven't read any of them (oh, well,. I've read one from Stephan King's alterego Richard Bachman, and I didn't really like that one). I actually like heroine Pedra Delicado's name, haha :D.
Last time I read an amazing fantasy-thriller, y1 by Sherrie Cronin. I won it on a giveaway, and I was amazed how briliant it was!

I love reading almost anything, even the non-fiction ones that I thought were boring. My favorites are those written by John Grisham, Nicolas Sparks, Anne Rice, Robert Jordan and Jane Austen. I have a lot of catching up to do on my reading. I actually have 3 books which I am currently reading, or more appropriately struggling to read each time I get to have some downtime and I am not feeling lazy.
