Hello. I've been seeing alot of this on the internet, regarding people and surveillance. People are making good points with their posts, especially on facebook. I am against 911 for entering the lives of personal people. I think it's a given that they have a job and it should not be deciding which people to put under surveillance and which ones to put under surveillance. I do not mind my friends watching out for me, but 911 workers who enter your life without telling you is very creepy. I do not want this government agency in my life without my express permission, written. My friends, yes. But we are going too far if a government agency can walk into the lives of citizens, their jobs and school, without their permission. What do you think? Would you give up your privacy for the sake of safety? Like I said, friends are fine, we watch out for one another. I don't know, if these stories are true, we are going too far. Tons of stories out there and actual court cases (google "gang stalking and firefighters", for example), I think it would be very sick and creepy for a firefighter, for example, to start watching you on cameras, I mean what if they single you out? What if one gets a crush on you and you can't make a move without them in your personal life? Far fetched? Who knows. But these stories get you thinking. for me NO I choose not to be put under 911 surveillance without permission. What about you? would you allow it in your life without your written permission? I would not. I would choose my friends to be there for me instead.

hi, nyssa102. if you're talking about surveillance in public places then i surely wouldn't mind this. lots of crimes happen on the streets and some of them have remained unsolved so a few extra surveillance cameras here and there would be of great help.

Yes. I DO NOT want a cop or firefighter looking at me from a camera and deciding I'm to be his wife, or something. I mean, far fetched? did you read about Drew Peterson or that Cannibal Cop? Creepy. There was a case in Texas that the Mayor could not even get answers to. These firefighters were harassing these 2 women. I don't know. People can get a little screwy in this world. I think it's time we start watching those who watch us, especially after reading some of those court cases.

i personally don't want anyone in my business without my consent. that's goes for so called, "friends" too. when "friends" start watching out for one another look out. "friends" are sometimes the biggest rats there are.

MoonGypsy, thanks for the fast response. You have made points as well, and now made me think. I think it's ok for people to be there for you in your life, if they wish the best possible life for you, and support every choice that you make in this world. If they do not support your choices, then they are not friends. When I became a wicca and read the history of persecution, I learned that wiccas and intuitives were first kept under local village surveillance. The same with Jews in Nazi Germany. I just think we have to nip things in the bud this time, before they get out of control. Keep our freedoms and those of our neighbors.

privacy is a hard thing to keep now a days, because everyone is watching everyone else just waiting to go rat. that's why the government is able to get away with doing it. people actually want to spy and be spied on.

I was on a chat forum, and this one person brought up this cannibal cop thing. This cop was using patriot act powers to find victims to eat. It was so strange, that I had to look it up. Yep, he was sure doing that, that is a real case. Also a case in Texas where firefighters were harassing 2 women, even posting pics of her and her deceased daughter, and mutilating them. That was so bad, that even the Mayor could not get to the bottom of it. The more you delve into it, the more frightening it becomes. You can learn a lot from people on social networking sites. This is something that I think we should be concerned about, and I'm glad they bring it up in their status's.
