After Fiverr, It's Time for oDesk

I have done several writing gigs at Fiverr earning me a total of $30 since November. It should have been more if I hadn't turned down several requests, but I think I've done enough to satisfy my curiosity. Actually, I've done enough to level up in their rankings so I'm satisfied with my performance.
So now, it's time to give my oDesk account some serious activity in search of a bigger payoff. Hopefully, this summer vacation I would be able to find one job to wet my appetite.
So what moneymaking gigs are keeping you guys busy?

i know what you mean. after doing your research, there's nothing like actually joining the site to know what it's really like. eventually, you either outgrow it or it becomes your bridge to something else.
you seem to have several skills so there are many jobs you can bid at in odesk. maybe you can provide a link to your profile at fiverr as your track record/portfolio.
are you still active in postloop?

I'm not really active in PostLoop. But from time to time, I'd like to go back to forum postings except every time I try being active again, I find my membership to a previous site has been removed or something. So, I had to start over and find new forums to join.

It looks familiar. I probably joined it, but I don't really remember anymore. Frankly, I joined a lot of sites to see if there are promising opportunities there. If I happen to forget, it's probably because there's nothing spectacular that looks compelling.

Hi Bloggeroo, I join Odesk just a few days ago.
it's not for looking at the online gigs, more of taking the tests to improve on different aspects of my existing skills.
I think it is good to have tests like those in Odesk, at least you know how good or bad you are in comparison to the rest of the population.

I have been a member of Odesk for several years already but never tried any tests, so I am not able to check if it could be one of those sites that I could get extra income from. Maybe it's time to try it out for myself.

I'm currently working with exactly the same sites that you are working with Bloggeroo viz. oDesk and Fiverr. I had a Fiverr account but I deleted it because things got a little out of hand about 2 months back when my PC broke down.
But I decided to rejoin it and make things bigger and better as far as my gigs were concerned. And so far, things have been working great for me. Just 2 days after joining, I have received 2 long-term gig offers.
I'm working on one job at oDesk and it is long-term too.
Lastly, I have 1 gig from a private client. So I'm potentially looking at $300 a month - more, during my summer vacations (I'll try harder! ).
Gosh! I just thought I'd drop by myLot after so many months today and here I am, making this huge post.
Thanks for the discussion Bloggeroo. Hope things are going well with you too.

hi bloggeroo.
aside from mylot, i'll be trying out odesk as well. been a member for sometime already but i never got around writing any articles yet. this summer, i'm planning to put more time and effort in writing in odesk.
aside from mylot though, i haven't done much online. i'm currently looking for a second job though. the salary that i get from my first job is enough to pay the bills and my daily expenses. i also get to save some money from my salary. i believe in savign and staying within budget, however, i do believe that earning more is a better option so i want to get a second job. most likely it will be an english as a second language teacher (esl teacher). i have friends who are currently doing it so i'm hopeful that i get a similar gig that suits my schedule.
i use to contribute articles for a website of a non-government organization and that writing gig pays well. i haven't been in touch with my editor though for sometime so i will conteact her again and try to get writing assignments again. otherwise, it will be back to me opening my online shop and sell different items and knick-knacks.
cheers!!!
