Facebook is one of the most visited social media sites along with Twitter. I am a member of this site since 2008. This was introduced to me by my college friends because of Farmville. I was so addicted with this game. But after 2 years, I got bored with Facebook. So, I tried to do online shop by using my account. Fortunately, my shop was a success and from then on, I visited Facebook for business purposes.
Of course Facebook was created to connect people around the world. Since my most of my friends are on far places while some of my relatives are on abroad, I can communicate and be updated to them through Facebook.
How about you why are you using Facebook?

FACE THE FACEBOOK
FACEBOOK is a platform. Different people use it for their own reason. The reasons may be:
- for communication.
- finding old friends.
- in order to be intact with all the friends.
- sharing photo among the friends.
- for finding soul mates.
- for business purpose. etc. etc.
I am using it for few of the reasons above and trying to get more benefit from it.

I like your answer, you just said it all.
I also use Facebook for some of those reasons:
I like seeing photos uploaded and tagged by my friends, I like seeing videos and uploading videos to share with my friends, I can chat with them online...
We can even get to know people by browsing their photos and videos (if available to strangers) and learn some about them before we get to know them (or not).
So, facebook has many uses.

How tagging is done? I once tried to be a tagger but I Facebook banned me for doing so because it seems to be a spam. How did you tag photos by not being banned by Facebook?

Hello iamsittie,
I made an account on FB somewhere around Jan 2009, but I didn't use it until June 2009. After seeing my nephew playing games on it and updating status messages, I also developed some interest in it. Before that I was active only on Orkut. Gradually, my interest inclined towards Facebook, but it is limited only till liking pictures and being updated about friends and relatives. I really wonder how people use this social networking site for business purposes...

I only have relatives, friends and some common friends in my friend list on FB. To promote online business one need to have a good networking skills and I completely lack it. I'll keep your business tip in mind and try to use it.
Thanks

mawee79, Facebook really is boring. Honestly, nowadays that my shop is not that active as it was before, I have less interest in Facebook. I prefer to visit mylot and other earning sites.
ShivenderRajput, wow very well said! Really Facebook is more of entertainment and sometimes Facebook has disadvantages such as spreading wrong information. Also Facebook can also be used to illegal activities just what the online scammers do. And Facebook also triggers cyber bullying.

i personaly feel that facebook is and can be very beneficial though i have felt after some period of time people tend to get bored here. It might be the lack of interest or simply the human nature of geting bored by an old way of entertainment though it has proved to b much more than a mere entertainment site. It has profitted many people all round the world both financialy as well as socialy as is its one of the greatest assets that we can meet our frnds n family on daily basis via facebook which eradicates the feeling of homesickness in some cases as well. Moreover u make frnds with different cultural backgrounds which gives chances of a better understanding of different culturer among the masses

Yeah, there are too many online sellers now. If you want online business make sure you have an established shop so that people can visit your items there. Also, make sure that you sell it on cheaper price than the others.

Long time ago I signed up a Facebook account because I wanted to keep in touch with my friends. Later Facebook was blocked in my country and therefore many of my friends couldn't access to it. I can access to it because I use a VPN. This is why I am not active in Facebook because I don't have many true friends there. Today I use it to do some online tasks only.

so Facebook for you is like Photobucket :) I agree this is a good storage of photos and you can gain more likes through this site. Also, you customize the settings of your albums. Some of my photos are only seen by my close friends because I am not that proud of my face. :D

That is so good! My facebook is mostly to connect with my relative. Once I tried having a mini shop together with my cousin, but it didnt go well. The plan was for me to prepare all the products and she sells them in Cebu, but nothing happened so I had to stop and gave away the stuffs to my mum and told her to just give them to charity.

I'm using Facebook because it's the easiest way of connection NEXT to mobile or telephone. :)
Lately, I'm not depending on emails anymore. Because I notice people fails to check email account in a week but never fails to check Facebook :))
FB can be use to meet new friends too, I was even hooked to gaming before. But now am not doing much activity there.
FB can actually make or break, depending on a person's intention of using it because some people are taking advantage by using it the wrong way . Spam. Virus or suspicious likes, adult contents, cyber violence (bully)
I've always said to check on kids when using it. :)

I agree, mostly Facebook users are abusing the so-called 'Freedom of Speech'. There are some fan pages post adult content photos in which children below 18 years of age have an access on these pages.
I also heard in the news that there are some Facebook groups that is exclusive for cyber "thing".
Facebook is really good but people sometimes abusing it.

Firstof all, I use Facebook to get in touch with my friends and family who are so into FB. Secondly, I use Facebook to locate my relatives near and far. It's amazing how relatives I couldn't remember anymore because I just saw them when I was very little are now reminding me of who they are and that they are my relatives -through FB. Thirdly, I use Facebook to promote my business. Fourthly, I use Facebook to encourage and to have fun.

I use Facebook mainly for communicating with friends, with group members when we have to work on a project and for expressing my thoughts. Sometimes if I'm bored I also read the news feeds. Facebook also used to be where announcements for our class are posted, so I frequented it for that reason during that time.

Its good that all of your friends are always online and they have computers at home. When we have projects, we communicate through cellphones because not all of them are online.

I keep in touch with a lot of people I grew up with. People I went to college with. My family too, I don't see them much in real life so I communicate with them on facebook when I get a chance. I also have met a few people on other sites like mylot, gather, and others that I have enjoyed talking too and friend on facebook so that when I'm on my phone walking aroud I can keep in touch on facebook.

I enjoy uploading photos on facebook. Everytime we have parties, special occasions, and gathering, we upload right away the pictures we capture. Then I compile it. Photos serve as my remembrance in all the activities. Of course, facebook also serves as a tool to communicate with friends, coworkers, classmates and new friends. Thus facebook is very useful to me.

More for socialising than anything else. It's one way I keep in contact with family and friends overseas. I've also started running, and have met a lot of people online and have done several virtual runs because of facebook. I have also started using twitter, and not sure what im doing on there, but i'll get the hang of it eventually!
