Do You Think There is Another Life Form in Our Universe?

I know this sounds like a really lame question, but i always wonder if there is or there are another life form in our universe? So do you think that possible? If yes what kind of life form do you think would exist? Is that would be like life form on earth?

yes, i believe that there is life somewhere out there in the vast corners of the universe. it is so huge and we've only started exploring a minute portion of it. i wouldn't have any idea about the other kinds of life form. our imaginations are limited to our ideas of life and living organisms on earth. even in the movies, the aliens were always depicted as somewhat like "mutant human beings". they have arms, legs, nose, eyes, etc... very much like us but in a weird way. how sure a we that aliens have a similar structure to that of ours? we won't have any idea unless we meet one.

Thats what I am talking about, i mean if there is alien life form out there, it would bu much different, than what ours, even maybe much different than what Hollywood movies shows us! Like for example, are they will use 'eyes' to see? 'Legs' to walk? Or 'ear' to hear?

I agree with this. We have an idea of life based on our own, on what we have. But our imagination cannot fathom what the expanding universe has in store for us. Maybe it's not carbon-based at all, maybe they don't have senses or appendages or maybe they have different ones to ours, maybe they're too small or too big, maybe they don't exist yet but will. They may be so vastly different from us that we won't recognize them.

or maybe they don't see or hear, they are just capable to absorbing information using another type of organ, one that is beyond our imagination. we do have a lot to learn about our universe, there's till so much to discover. what we have now are just products of our wildest guesses.

I Strongly believe that there are life on other planet, but perhaps they are so far and reside in other galaxies that those different life forms just like us, doesn't have the proper tools and ships so we can communicate with each other, maybe someday when we develop a High-Tech Transport Machine so we can go any planet on the universe, without getting wear-out before we reach our destination. Just Like in the movie STAR GATE which they use portal to go back and forth in every planet they may choose.

That's Sounds Great, Wormhole if any body has already manipulated and can control the wormhole, we can use it to travel in different universe. as far as I know no one has yet achieve to understand how to create wormhole, there are lots of theories and we can only see wormhole used by numerous sci-fi movies.

And again the extremely huge size of our universe, the signal or anything that the other intelligent life forms sent and received by us (like the WOW! signal), maybe the civilization already gone, since the distances, because our closest galaxy from our galaxy is about 2 million light years away. And in physics there is a 'short cut' to other part of universe using a 'wormhole'

Well I guess with the vastness of the universe we can really say that there is a high probability that there is life in other parts of the universe. I do not think we are all alone in this wide universe and no other life exist but us.

Agree with u! Even the vastness of this universe still a big mystery for us. So the possibility there are other life forms is higher.

The only thing I find intriguing is finding one to prove that there are life existing in other planets since we all know that we are alone in our own solar system so we are looking beyond ours to prove there is life that exist in other galaxies or solar system like ours. To date, I have not read we have found one. We were only able to discover planet similar to ours but we have not detected if life do exist in that place.

I'm quite sure there is other life forms exist in our universe, they may not be in a form that exactly the same as earthlings, they can look and behave totally differently than us or any creature you found on earth. In order to survive and live in our vast universe of different variables, other life forms will have to adapt and mutate into a form that can preserve and guarantee their own survival in that new environment, where human and animals may not be able to live. Some may have exist in a form that beyond our human understanding and knowledge through many billion of years in evolution took place in the past.

Extraterrestrial life form may have encountered by human space explorer while in seek of another planet and exoplanet in our universe from the past, but due to our limited knowledge of life forms evolved over the period of a billion or even several billion of years, human scientist could have easily failed to acknowledge their very existence in this vast universe. Intelligent life form that possess a higher IQ and advance technology from beyond this cosmic that we known and our own solar system are very likely to exist but difficult to reach with our present stage of space technology and scientific equipments unless they come to us. Our solar system's age in present galaxy is considered young in astronomical term in comparison to primordial matter in universe, one thing is for sure; the knowledge and intelligence accumulated by alien being over all these billion of years from cosmic evolution is beyond the grasp of human scientist mind and their alien's literature.

I think like that too, our universe is about 13.5 billion years old, and our earth just about 4.3 billion years old, and the oldest life form evolved about 3.5 billion years ago (prokaryotic life form) think about that billions of years before first life form emerged on Earth? And the number of planets existed on our extremely vast universe? Think about how many life forms possibly existed today on our universe.

Hi, In the observable universe are billions upon billions of galaxies containing the same number of stars with planets circling around them. It is highly probable that among these planets ideal conditions exist that support for the evolution of life in any form. Intelligence is not confined to humans but may have found its way to individual forms that is suitable to the prevailing environmental conditions. It would be interesting to see these kind of intelligent life forms, their interactions, and overall progress in the way of technology, cultures, norms and all the trappings of what we call civilization. Spaces still separate us from them, what took several human lifetimes to cross may be only a fraction of their age, one reason why we never got the chance to see them in our time.

Hi Rog0322, Really good answer, and yeah i think its really intresting to know other intelligent life form civilizations, norms of life, culture, what they eat, and their technology, but unfortunately maybe it will not happen in this near future... But who knows?

Our Universe is huge and it is just about right to think (in my opinion) that it is possible there are other life forms in the universe. It is so huge and there are many other universe as well that could have a life form similar to us, too... right?

Yes, and yes maybe there are many other universes too (like in multiverse theory) but i am pretty sure none of us will ever can observe that other universes, despite the size of our universe that even still unknown until now. Unless maybe there will be other methods to travel or observe with some physics laws which still unknown or not yet discovered by us now.

There billions of galaxies, one of which is the universe that we are in. The stars we see at night are still in our universe. I think none has ever reached the stars. There is a big possibilty that there are other lives in other galaxies.

Our closest star other than our Sol (Sun) is Proxima Centauri, which distance about 4.22 light years away from us, and yes no one in the history of our human race that ever travel even just to our closest star (else than Sol)

I believe so after watching so many aliens movies. Morever, there are some sightings by many people and all have been 'classified' under 'confidential'. If there are human beings and other living things on earth, why there is no living things in other planets. Maybe there are other living things that can live in different conditions of the planets. No one knows whether alines live among us ... maybe they do....and perhaps many years already!
• Indonesia
26 Mar 13
I don't really believe aliens sightings that happened around us are 'real' aliens from other planets, since so many doubts about the evidences. So i don't really believe they are already live here among us, even sure there are some possibilities.

I think that you are referring to other living creatures outside our planet.Yes believe that other civilization co- exist outside earth. There are about 9 planets in our solar system, and scientist keep discovering new planets. Our sun is just 1 of the stars in a galaxy called milky way, which consist of millions or billions of stars;and there are still other galaxies outside our galaxy. We can just imagine how vast the universe is.We have not even explore even half of our solar system.I just can't imagine how they look, they could be other forms like those portrayed in fiction films, not human like us.For sure they are also wondering exploring if there are lives apart from their own.

Yes, we are still far away even to explore our closest solar systems. And yeah if there is other inteligent life form out there, maybe right now some of them wonder, is there any other life form else than them? Hehe...

It depends on what your philosophical view of the world is. If you believe that everything that exists is matter and energy, and the life evolved alone from chemicals then there is a huge chance that there are other life forms, even other intelligent life forms, even inside our own galaxy. If you believe we have been created then the universe doesn`t look so huge anymore and for example for me the discovery of other intelligent life forms will be a huge blow, i will still not accept that our life doesn`t have any purpose or we are the result of chance but it will shake my beliefs a lot.

In this context the life form i means is merely just organisms that evolved on extraterrestrial places. And possibly some intelligent life form that by far more advance than us. And i think our belif and science supposed to be put side by side. And actually i don't believe we are just a results of chances, if i want to connect it with God n stuff, i think those chances (even if in fact science proved that we are here as the results of chances) already planned by God, as also other life forms or intelligent life forms on extraterrestrial places.

I think it is because our limited technology that we have now days. And because the size of our universe that so increadibly huge! Our Milky Way galaxy alone sized about 100000 light years in diameter (medium size galaxy), and there are about 125 billion galaxies on our observable universe. So maybe even just say in 7500 light years away in our galaxy on some planets there is life form evolved but they not evolved enough to make contact with us. Or some already made contact with us, but we just don't realized it.

Hi friend, I think Earth is the only planet for living. Scientists doing a lot of researches to find whether living things are available in other planets, but i don't think there is no life in other planet. May be it will be possible in future. Nothing is impossible in today's modern technology

Hi too! :) And yes I think its still a long journey until our technology can find even one single life form on extraaterrestrial place. And i heard, despite of the unimagineable size of our universe, that looking for a life form in this massive size of universe is harder than finding a small spider on the really huge opera theater with no light and in just a blink (i am not made up this comparison i heard it from discovery channel program)

Honestly I am not sure if there is or if there is not. I believe that there is only one that knows for sure and it is not me. Sorry I know I was no help. I know that scientists and probably other occupations and people who ask the very same question that you have, so you are not alone in that.

For me is this not a lame question, i find it a very interesting question. The universe is vast, and there is a big possibility that from the other galaxy there are also other beings. There is on one question in my mind that until now i can't find an answer, one of these is the pyramids, how can people built this kind of building that is perfect in measurement, how and who give the idea to them? and blocks that they use is so huge and heavy, and that time there is no heavy equipment that can gather the block to the top, an put in perfect measurement. There so many many wonders of the world, that until now still remain a mystery on how it was build or how it was done.

Yes i think we are really surrounded by many mysteries in our life, even about this earth. Like "out of place objects" too, some out of place and time objects like metal cube, neddle, nail, coin, etc that discovered on a block of coal, or on a rock, which formed millions of years ago, which is impossible for those things to be trapped there. My suggestion 'time travel'

It's not an off handed question really. There are new discoveries all the time about life supporting planets. There has been a lot of speculation about Mars. Not sure what kind of life forms would be out there. Think it would depend on the planet and it's development. Everything starts out as organisms so they would have to find something that would support that.

Yes, our universe is so extremely huge, its even still a big mystery about how big our universe is, even it says that our universe strecth out far away bigger than our observeable universe! And i do believe in Panspermia theory, so i think if life occured here on our earth so life occured too on some where elses on our extremely huge universe!

yes, I believe in another life form in our universe, like life in another planets. life of those who are upper human being. like those who God made them by fire or light. they live many where even maybe around us but we are not able to see with this eyes while we are limited in this body.

Yes in some religion we told about some unseen creatures made from fire and light that we cannot see. But even in this physical world, i read that the other life form can be based not from carbon like us, but from silicon.
