It happened to me last year in Rio. We arrived with time to go up Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car. The views from up there were amazing. We went to see the statue of Christ on top of another mountain. We went up there by cog railway and the it was a clear day for sightseeing. Wow! That afternoon we had a walk around the beautiful botanical gardens. On our final day we walked around the coast line and had a fruit smoothie. I bought a lovely looking costume doll from a pretty shop.
What would be your idea of a really fantastic Easter?

I quite like staying at home normally over easter as usually we have a hot snap and we can enjoy lots of family tiem with everyone off and barbeques etc however, as this one is so cold, it would have been nice to have gotten away but, I cannot afford that so no point even thinking about what could have been! Lol

WOW! That sounds rally fantastic. What excite me most is that beautiful botanical garden. I've always love gardens. I love plants just as I love the sea.
To me a fantastic Easter is spent in any place where there is a lovely sea with lots of trees around but I must be with my family so we can pray together, read the Bible and meditate on God's word at night on the shore beneath the moonlight.

A lovely Mass and then to be with friends.
Well, I'm looking forward to the first anyway, I might get some of the second too.
I've belonged to this church for a couple of years now, but I really haven't spent much time getting to know the people, not so much because I don't want to, but generally because I have to then run home and do stuff. Sometimes being the only driver is a pain.

You win.
I did go to Galapagos in April, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't over Easter. Usually we stay home at Easter, but next weekend we are going to take a short trip, probably to San Francisco.

Just another day. But I did search for a suitable avatar to mark the occasion!
Cable car rides are the best for views. I have had several such experiences on my tours. The most memorable one was when we were taken to Jung frau in Switzerland. As our car left the ground I could hear the tapering sound of the bells round cows that were grazing there. That took us to the railway station. A clutching train took us to the foot of the alps where a circular gondola was awaiting us that gave us a full view of the Alps. Once there, we spent a whole day. There were stores there where we could shop, eateries and also a post office which is supposed to be the highest in the world. I bought a card and posted it to my folks.
Happy Easter maximax...

Wow that definitely sounds exciting my friend, you are very lucky to experience those views and get to visit Rio. I can't ever recall having a fantastic Easter to be honest, I do remember back when I was working at a call centre, Good Friday was the best day of the year to work in terms of getting extra money! So I would always volunteer. I hated working over Christmas but loved working over Easter. I don't really celebrate Easter, I get annoyed that the leisure centre closes early over the period and it's just a long weekend. Easter has come early this year hasn't it, and yet judging by the weather, it's still winter, rather than spring.
