Well Facebook is a social media site where alot of stuff happends. You can find your friends, see what they're doing, what they're gonna do, see events, upload pictures, share pictures. Which is pretty much what everybody needs, everybody needs some sort of social place where they normally can be themself, share a bit information with their finds and so on :)

I like it for all the reasons you said, plus it found me people I thought where lost from me forever. I get a kick out of seeing how people are connected- same birthday, same field, same location or so on. However, they don't know each other. I'm thrilled to make introductions, of course.

Hi there natsume! =) well that is surely true. facebook is indeed such a kind of site and its basically mostly for sharing information, updates, finding friends and being updated from and by it... it is really wonderful place for friends to find each other and to chat... but it can be such a place too that is full of people that only boasts and wants to only be recognized and wants the attention to themselves.

Your FB definition changes when you start getting massive status updates, photo updates, notifications, events from friends and strangers alike that you can hardly follow them. But I am quite sure Mark did not see all that coming, when he first launched the site.

I guess not everyone needs social media, perhaps most who use social media are the ones who day-to-day relationship with the computer. But it also does not warrant, he played facebook every day. Indeed, for some people play facebook is fun because it can relieve boredom, for example, to confide in the state, can chat with friends, can be narcissistic, etc..
