Data Entry sites..

Right now, I am doing research on Data Entry/work at home sites. I see where there are lots of options but I also see where there is a possibility to be scammed as well. I went into looking around thinking that if I can type very well, I shouldn't have anything to worry about. That's so not the case at all. So I was wondering does anybody have any experience with data entry at home sites? Is this something people avoid or actually take part in?

If you're into data entry jobs, I suggest you should start looking at Odesk. Odesk is one of the most reliable sites when it comes to online jobs and there are tons of job openings available. Just make sure that before you apply, check whether the employer has a verified payment method and read the reviews about them to avoid non-payment.

thanks so much, I just found it and plan to look it over as soon as I am done looking over the one site that I signed up for..it's funny because I heard someone else mention that site a while back in this site and didn't think anything of it!

No problem! Though I must warn you, it will really take some time before you get a job there. There a lot of data entry specialists applying so the competition is really stiff. If you have other skills, which I'm sure you have, other than data entry, look for jobs that are suitable for those skills :)

Are you from the US? There are a lot of jobs offered to you on freelance sites than for people from the Philippines or some other parts (Non-US)....
You can do web content writing with ease, blog or surveys.. You can even be a customer service rep (home based) -- these are the markets that we cannot go in...
But for you guys in the US I believed there are a lot of opportunities for you online.
Be careful with data entry sites asking for money, most of them are not legit.
oDesk, freelancer and elance are the best sites to start.

It is actually one of the most listed jobs at Odesk as well as at Freelancer. Be sure to deal with sites that have good reviews. Although there could also be a possibility of getting scammed from those sites if you will not be cautious in applying for jobs. Be sure to deal with verified accounts all the time.

You can take such work from freelancing sites where surety of payment is provided by the sites. I know one such site on which I am working and getting paid. The name of site is odesk.com.
