How Do You Deal with Frustration?

"The greater the commitment, the lesser the sacrifice; the lesser the commitment, everything's a sacrifice." - Pastor Wayne Cordeiro, New Hope Church
Lately, I find myself making a self-assessment more often than usual. I've been eating rejections at this season of my life more than I've ever had in my entire lifetime. Good thing, I am surrounded by people who give wise counsel even when they are also going thru the same issues that I do.
Rejection is not a pretty thing, is it? Who wants to be rejected over and over and over again? I guess when you offer something of value and firmly believe in, of course you expect people to see it the way you do. Sadly, most of them seem not to be in the same frequency like I do.
Hmm. Pastor Wayne Cordeiro said that we can be frustrated but not discouraged and there are biblical principles to back it up. He exhorted a good way to vent out frustration and that is to "get it of this (chest) and get it out there (on paper)" so we can instead have the problems out of our minds and think of the resolutions instead.
Biblical or not, how do you overcome frustration?

When we said frustration I feel sad about this because I am frustrated with my dream of being a great business woman. I want to be a great woman as I dream of but I didn't win against poverty. There's a lot of hindrances that block the way of goin to success. Well, for me all are accepted because life's full of struggles that I need to battle. To handle my frustration is prayer. Divert my attention to some good work and make myself positive.. I always sing and attend continuously bible study. Practise songs for choir..

Lower your expectations. Most peoples' frustrations stem from their disappointment of things not working out the way they anticipated. If you are constantly being let down and are becoming frustrated because of it, evaluate how much pressure you put on yourself, on others and on situations in your life.
Take nothing personally. People develop frustration over being let down by someone, cut off in traffic, shouted at by a loved one or any one of other common things. Nothing any one says or does should be taken as a direct affront to you. People have their reasons for the way they act, and, though it may seem it at times, their behavior has nothing to do with you and everything to do with their emotional mind-set at the time you crossed their paths.

When I am frustrated, the way I deal with it, is to pray to God to deal with it, as I can't do it on own. Also, i find that coming in here eases some frustration. I come in here, and release all my anxiety and frustrations, and you know it really helps. Having fun in here, really helps with the frustration that I am having. Take care, and have a good day.

I usually eat when I'm frustrated. This is how I am since I was a kid. If there is a video game that I can't beat, I go to the kitchen and look for food. Then I take a break and eat. Then I go back to the game and finish it. Even now, I have horrible bosses and this is so frustrating. You'll find me more often in the pantry.

I did not expect a pastor would give that kind of advise, the one about writing frustrations down on paper. It is actually what I am doing here on mylot. LOL, and it's not really paper. Being an anonymous online person is great because you don't have to worry about being judged by people who might know you. Plus, mylot helps us earn by turning our frustrations into discussions.
A lot of people are frustrated. Other than writing, exercise might also help us let go of some of the emotional stress we are experiencing and it keeps us fit.

When things doesn't come out the way I want it to be, yes, I feel frustrated but I won't stop until I find out what is the reason for such.
And if after several attempts still nothing happens, that would be the time that I just accept the fact that this thing is not for me. Similarly, sharing it with family and friends can help to lessen the burden we have inside.
Have a wonderful day!

i always thought God is not fair... He gives a lot to some selected people. Does he plays favorite? but nevertheless... oh well like my usual thought.. i can't please everyone... i can't please him.. then fine with me... what can I do. Then i thought again... I will just do things that will make me happy or maybe i can just do productive things to bear away my mind and distract myself from feeling frustrated.. LOL.. this is coverup i know and padding... but sometimes or most of all the time it helps.

At this point in my life, I have become more dependent on God for everything that needs to be done that directly concerns me. I had the most number of frustrations in my lifetime than anybody else that I know of..that I believe basing on my personality. If not for the grace of God, I might have ended my life tragically. When frustrated, I kneel and praise God and pray more. I'd grab my guitar and worship Him who I believe gets frustrated a lot because of my sinful ways and yet, loves me unconditionally with that perfect love He made me experience when I received Jesus as Lord and Saviour. I still get frustrated, a lot, and will continually get frustrated. But with my transformed mind, and my eyes that are focused on Jesus, I am good!
