In our entire lifetime, we experience both sad and happy moments. Life indeed is a roller-coaster ride! We reach our breaking point when we feel that nothing seems to go perfectly right but we are also overwhelmed by simple joys that life brings, be it from the family or friends or even from strangers who reach out for us. There are so many things that we should thank God for. I remember a saying that says: "Once I had blues because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet!" A strike of paradigm shift suddenly hits us. We realize our blessings in looking at others' misfortunes. can we not be thankful enough by counting the little blessings that God has been bestowing us since the beginning of our lives? Life is somehow simple as it may be but things just become complicated because we do not actually open our eyes with a more positive thought.

yup..we must be grateful for each and every small thing we have..atleast we get to eat food everyday..we have shelter to live in..water to drink..at the sametime there are thousands of people who don't have any of these ...and still we worry about things we don't have...it has been said from time to time..inorder to get more,we need to be grateful for what we have...

yes, those are the little things that we need to be thankful for. All the little sustenance that we can still provide for ourselves are enough to feel how blessed we are each day.

Absolutely. Some of us only kneel down and give thanks after receiving blessings from God. But in times of trials/problem- some of us ask and complain God about it. If only we knew how to appreciate things- and say thanks for all the good and bad things in our lives- maybe then everyone will realize the greatness of prayers.

The funny part sometimes is just when we are at the peak of success, we forget to kneel down because we are so much intoxicated by the glory that we feel at the moment. But when we are at our lowest, that's when the time we turn to God aside from complaining to Him that we do not deserve such misfortune.

I definitely do try to think about the fact that I have a lot of different blessings in my life. However, I do think that there are times when the struggles that we are facing is something that is so terrible that it is hard to think about the fact that we have blessings in our lives. For example, the most recent time that it has been something that has been hard to overlook my problems is when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. I really thought my world was coming to an end.

Well, people, commonly it is easy to pray in the sad moments, in difficult times, in times of need. However, according to my point of view, we have to ask ok, when we are in trouble, but do not stop praying even when, also if only for a moment, our life is to be happy! In the church where I go to Sacred Religious functions, there is a sign that says: "If you need, ask if you have, give." It seems to me a reasoning more than correct. We try to always pray when we can!

Hi, You are right. We should count our blessings instead of tears. I like the comparison of our life with roller coaster. We have ups and downs in our life and it is always changing. When we see around us we can observe that there are many people who are sadder than us. They are going through more difficult situation than us. At that time we realize that we are really blessed by God. We should be positive and neglect negative side of the life. It is better to say glass is half filled with water rather than it is half empty.

Exactly. Sometimes I feel so guilty that i only realize how lucky and blessed i am when I see those who have more miseries than me. when that happens, I just humble myself and pray to God that those people need more help than I do.

Those were exact words i wrote on a text to a friend after she lost all her savings through a con.She was really depressed so i told her to remember other things that God had blessed her with and forget her misfortunes.

It is lovely to treasure the current time and look back with happy feelings to the past. I know that it is wise to be open to a happy and wonderful future. It is great to feel in an upbeat mood. We can be wholesome grateful for all we have got. I have 3 lovely children and 2 wonderful dogs. I live in bungalow in a quiet area. Have a superb day.
