have you also encounter forgetting to unplug something in your house such as charger or any appliances that need to unplug in electric power?i actually did it,because we used an electric stove and after i cooked i hurried up to prepare going to my work, and when i arrived in the office i remembered that i forgot to unplug it,and i felt unease during that time,so i called my sister in law to check it and unplug the electric stove for the safeness of the house against fire.

Last time when I forgot to unplug my washing machine before I was traveling back to my hometown, I made a call to my best friend and asked her to help unplug it and switch the power off. If I do not unplug it when I am on the travel, I feel very insecure for my neighbours and properties.

Good thing nothing bad happen. Before, I used to let my computer plugged and left it. But after read so many fire cases from electric short, I change almost all of my appliance to have switch on its plug. So I can just switch it off without unplug. Doing plug and unplug occasionally will loosen the contact point and can make fire. I hope all of us can be more careful with electric hazard and fire hazard.

It happens in every home one time or another, here we use electric heaters in kitchen, usually my wife keeps 5 liter milk in a bowl on it to boil and goes out for bath in morning most of the days, there is one hour power cut, at that time she forgets to switch off, she goes to other room to play with grand kids, lol the power comes and the milk gets spilled. Thanks for this discussion; asliah HAPPY HOLI

I always feel this especially since I got pregnant. I feel like I've been very forgetful lately. When I'm a few walks away from the flat, I would say to my partner that I need to go back to check if I really have unplugged everything or other safety stuff and he does get annoyed sometimes. In my homecountry, our house has a 'breaker'- i think that's how they call it so it's safer to have it even if some stuffs are still unplugged.

I get to panic mode as soon as I remember forgetting something to unplug or turn off. It happened to me about a month ago. I opened the faucet in the laundry room coz I was going to do the laundry while Mylotting (Multi-tasking mom, of course hahaha). Then at past 11am, I remembered i had to fetch my son from school. A few meters away from the house, I was already riding on the jeep, I remembered about the running water. Good thing my sister in law was already awake that time so i texted her and told her to turn it off for me.

Hi, I have a lot of electronic appliance in the home and office and the last thing I would do before exiting in the morning and evening respectively is a rundown of the whole place, checking switches and cables if they are properly shut down and unplugged. The action has become so ingrained and automatic that I often forgot I have done such and such thing that I have to go back and see if that master switch has been on the off position or the electric fan is unplugged from the wall, myriad details done automatically I feel as if I have not done it.

that is normal for us to forget things especially if we are in a hurry. also if i can remember some appliances i haven't unplugged like iron or electric stove and i remember it later that is really a cause of concern for me and the most uneasy thing is if there is no one in the house left to unplug it too..that would be very dangerous..

Hi, I sometimes forget to put off our geyser. It has auto stop facility. But it starts again when temperature come down. It continues on and off. But no damage to the house. The electrical appliances should be off in time because there is danger of short circuit or any other damage to house. It is very nice that you remembered after some time that you forget to put off the stove.

I think we all have done that. I have 5-6 times in my life. Glad you remembered.

forgetting to unplug the electric stove is far more dangerous than just forgetting to unplug chargers and other appliances. it was good that your sister in law was there to do the job otherwise it would have caused plenty of damage. before i go out to work, i always check on the gas to make sure it is off.
