Who Agrees that It's Time for a "Star Wars"-Revamp (Like with "Star Trek")?

Like the old one, but with time-travel I'm thinking; we could pick up the same length-of-time after the third STAR WARS, but this time Uncle Owen is a Rebel Alliance soldier & of course pulls Luke into the service quick (a little too quick), Obi-Wan ALSO goes into the service (as a chaplain) & ... where does it go from there? I don't know ... but there's time-travel! Hey, maybe THAT's where SkyNet got the technology for the T-X & -for THEIR time-travel (TERMINATOR)! And Doctor Who! & Doc Brown! & Twelve Monkeys! & Spock! Morlocks! GOO-GOO-G`JOOB! And throw BatMan in there! That's what all the BatMan-movies have been missing---time-travel ... and Inception. Hey! Maybe time-travel is just what they need for an INCEPTION-sequel! "Oooh! The Force is STRONG with this one!" And maybe we can bring back Luke Starkiller! Whaddaya think, myLotters?

Starkiller? There is a new Star Wars movie being made, actually. I believe it's after the first three (nos 4 - 6 are the first three, lol).

Luke Starkiller was Lucas's original name for Luke Skywalker, back when he was just thinking of STAR WARS as an outer-space samurai-epic (like Enter the Dragon). I was thinking more 'what if Luke had taken a path almost like his father's?' Maybe meeting Han Solo earlier & taking Chewbacca's place as Han's sidekick. And maybe Han Solo is actually Luke's Jedi cousin! Maybe Han is the one who will bring balance to the Force!

Interesting idea there mythociate. In my d20 Starwars RPG campaign I have been playing with time travel and alternate time lines. In one of my adventures my player characters changed the time line and General Grieveous never came into existence. I also had characters in the game from a medeval time (Dungeons and Dragons). It was rather interesting seeing how a time traveling character using old weapons like a battle axe fared against Trade Federation Battle Droids. The ideas and creativeness only stops with our own imaginations. I just dont think Lucas or Disney would like out thoughts though LOL.

no doubt that they will bring a new version out with bells and whistles and I look forward to that day. Have a great day from Deeeky

Yes, the ideas can get a bit too campy to hold to 'reality' (the reality the movie-makers & -watchers co-create), but I think movies should give you a chance to be aware that that's kinda what you're doing ... that no movie is the end-all & be-all of that story-line's existence!

No. Definitely not. The franchise is already teetering on the edge of ridiculous after Episodes 1-3... and now they're talking 7-9. Leave it alone. The best things should never, ever be redone, rebooted, remade, continued or milked for every penny.

Star Wars should never have time travel. I think I might cry if it did... literally. I am not as crazy about the revamp of Star Trek either but things happen. Lol. However, Batman might be more entertaining with some time travel and I am not sure it would work for Inception. I mean how does one simply time-travel through a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream and yet another dream? Sounds kind of complicated lol. You know what other movie would be good with some time travel: Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. Just imagine how much people would hate a time traveling hobbit. They could show what would happen if the rings were never made or someone went back and destroyed it then.

That reminds me of an episode SOUTH PARK did spoofing INCEPTION ... where Kyle & that school-councilor (the one that says "M`kay" all the time) had the bad habit of hoarding (not throwing stuff away), and they started those two and a shepherd they mistakenly thought was a sheep-hOArder into a dream to 'solve the hoarding problem.' But they all got pulled into the councilor's dream, and had to call in the guys from INCEPTION, -the fire-department, -a pizza-delivery-guy & -Freddy Krueger All they needed was time-travel

Hahaha :D. First, when I saw the title of your discussion, I was like what? Oh no. A revamp? An over-the-top new movies fan? Then I got relieved. You're on point with that. These remakes are so stupid, purely for getting money, no value, no originality... like a big balloon - colorful on the outside, air inside...

I love Star Wars! I named my former dog Chubakaw (named after a weird horse-like Starwars character, I modified the name though). I love Liam Neeson, Harrison Ford, Ewan McGregor and others. I so love the pretty face of Natalie Portman and I even remember calling myself Queen Amigdala. Well...whatever you make of Star Wars...just bring it on! I'll watch just the same..

What do you think should happen in the revamp (differently than in the original)? And you think Chewbacca was horse-like? He always seemed more werewolf-like to me!

It might be difficult to make a Star Wars revamp because there are no suitable actors to play the characters at present and they already remastered the original trilogy to the point that they did some minor change in the ending of "Return of the Jedi" on which Hayden Christiansen was digitally inserted replacing the original actor.
