Had the best food on vacation

From Wednesday March 20 to Monday March 25 I have to say I grubbed on some of the best food since moving here to Texas. I am originally from Mississippi; and I grew up on some food that people here in Texas believe would be very gross and pretty strange.
Like for instance, the Sonic here in Texas doesn't do something that the one in my hometown does and I was pretty PO'ed that they didn't because it is so good. The one Sonic's in my hometown actually puts coleclaw on the chili cheese coney if you just so happen to ask for it. I guess its a southern thing but I loved that growing up and my baby cousin loves it too; she's only 4 so she will have a lot more of those in her lifetime.
Every time I bring this up however, people think I am crazy, but it is really good.
What foods do you like that someone else thinks is strange?

I am from Asia, and yes lots of food here that many people like, but western people find it gross, or strange, like durian, tofu, asian meat ball, some of noodle, etc. As for me, maybe because my family personally have lots of ducth influence (even tho, i 100% Asian), so even i like some of those strange Asian foods, but i love western foods better.

Cool! And in my country i joining some English club, and the native speaker usually American, from Texas, North Carolina, Missisipi, California, etc. So i usually hangout with them n i know what food in here they like, and whats not. Most American I met like Satay (meat barbeque, with Peanut sauce) and almost all of them like Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice), they prefer our Tempeh (Indonesian soy cake) than Tofu. And they said, they like our sweet soy sauce better than the soy sauce avaible in America.

Tofu is a vegan thing here in the states.
I am a big fan of Chinese and Japanese noodles; but then again I have a percentage of Asian in my bloodline so it is to be expected.
I love Chinese, Italian, Mexican, and of course American style foods. I try to be as diverse as I can be.

Have you ever heard of stinky food? It's a Chinese food and is rated as the most unacceptable food for foreigners. But we Chinese do enjoy it and doesn't understand why others can't. I think the same story applies to the fruit king --durian. People who love it think it's the best in the world; as to the people who cannot accept it, they think no human can ever eat something like that.

Sorry, I typed it wrong. It's not stinky food, it's stinky tofu, which is a kind of traditional Chinese food with long history. In most cases, it is fried before served.

Nothing but, I want to try exotic food that I watch some documentaries on television. He he he he I was so curious to those people who ate insects. I mean fried insects and I forgot what province but, I think, if I would eat one of those fried insects, that would also be strange to other people who do not eat exotic food.

It is mainly culture of why people eat the way that they do.
I was raised in the south so I love southern style cooking; the other different types of food that I like came later on.
