Early this year, when summer hasn't even officially started yet, the temperature rose to as high as 40 degrees one day. More than a week or two, it's quite obvious that it's summwr already. It's hot here on my side of the globe! A lot of my friends are getting sick due to weather extremes. I hear of flu, flu-like symptoms, colds, cough, migraine, hypertension.
My husband started having sore, itchy throat which progressed into severe coughing. My husband would always have these symptoms each year during summer. Is there really such seasonal diseases or illnesses? What do you do when you are beinv pestered by severe coughs and the last thing you wang tomdo is to take medicines despite the difficult discomforts?

I experience allergy reactions prior to the change in weather quite frequently before. That is me and my siblings. But we handled our problem quite well now by maintaining a better lifestyle.
We settled on natural treatment and prevention by keeping our digestion healthy. We came from an asthmatic family on both sides so all of us suffer from these situations but we zeroed it down to a weak stomach. Keep your stomach healthy and you avoid the worst life can throw you in terms of health problems because most of one's immune system lies in the stomach. Eat healthy, organic and fermented foods and exercise daily (Mine's more on the Cardio since it helps the stomach as well as the heart) and you're bound to be healthier than just depending on prescriptions...at least that's in my point of view.

Just be safe especially that the temperature this summer could go as high as 40 degrees. If you are allergic to a lot of things in tHe environment, take precautionary measures.

Firstly there is SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) it's mostly associated with the Winter and not getting enough light, however because it's 'seasonal' it can in actual fact happen during Summer too.
My father has COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) caused by smoking, unfortunately it's incurable and he is forever coughing, sometimes choking and has to take medication for it. He still smokes, he refuses to listen to the doctor's advice.
It could also be an allergy, certain blossom, flower, plants can give off scents which makes us allergic, I know I suffer at the end of Summer with hayfever and have to take anti-hystamines.
I hope your husband is seeking medical help for his severe coughing, best to find out what is causing it, so he can get it treated ASAP.

I don't know about severe coughing but I know that when coughing starts, you better eat eggplants and mangoes--these are natural foods that can help cure coughing. But if for first-aid, honey is best.
Keep up your vitamin C this summer and refrain from eating sweet foods that has a lot of sugar--it will only succeed in making you feel warmer later. If you want something to cool yourself settle with watermelons and cucumbers and no soft drinks. Keep stress low by drinking a lot of water--not cold but settle with lukewarm--and tea. This will help against common colds that causes coughs. Because usually these kinds of sickness appears when you're stressed out due to the change in temperature.
Hope this helps! Have a nice day!

Eggplants and mangoes for coughing? And honey also? Really? I am definitely sharing this information to my friends who are coughing severely. My husband's coughing is not that severe anymore but I will still give him the things you've mentioned.

Yeah I guess it has something to do with the weather, like now it's summer but suddenly with just rain hard, just what happened today. Two of my cousins just got out of the hospital today, after being confined for 5 days due to their coughs which were diagnosed by their doctor as pneumonia. Their hospital bill was ~70,000 pesos (5,665 usd), fortunately their father has a health card, so they didn't have to pay for that bill. Now one of my cousins has a cough as well, hopefully she'll get well soon. As for me, I just have a cold, so I really need to drink a lot of water and take some rest as well.

Yes, I think it is really that there are seasonal diseases or illness. When the weather too hot there are many people who suffer headaches and cough, additionally when the weather too cool, there are many people who suffer asthma and other problems of respiratory tract. Usually I take medicines from my doctor to reduce my cough. I think keep a healthy diet and take more rest will help to avoid seasonal diseases.

If it only occurs during summer, it might be a seasonal problem. Summer is usually the time when there is an increase number of pollens in the air which cause allergic symptoms. You might want minimize exposure to elements that causes allergies and consult your physician for medication.

One thing indeed that contributes to becoming sick is exposure to certain allergens. You're right, a lot of people will need to consult a doctor for the right medication.

I would suggest you to take hot water mixed with salt and gargle with it. I think if it stays too long it is good to consult a doctor.

There are really times when every one in the office or even in the house get sick because of the weather. During these times, we make sure we take a lot of liquid, especially water, and make sure we take our daily dose of vitamin C.
I hope your husband gets better soon.

I think there is really a seasonal diseases. I have experienced that, every cold weather in December. It is very cold every night and so, there is a feeling that I might get cold and so, before its too late, I would sleep early and take good care of my health like I stay away from cold drinks.

Actually 40 degrees was registered inside the car with temperature reader. Outside was like 36 degrees and inside the car it was 40. But the thing is, we are really now in the summer time here in my country. And it's really so hot. I couldn't go outside without an umbrella because I easily suffer from headache when directly exposed to the sun. And yes, we so wanted to swim in a tub full of ice...I guess I would do that sometime? :)

Did you know that apple is one of the healthiest fruits on earth? You're right, if only we could have one apple a day, we could be healthier. But not all people in my country can afford to have an apple a day. It's considered expensive by the poor people. Stay healthy!
