I was back from work and was heating up a mug of water for my coffee. Then I thought, why not boil an egg while the water was still heating. I have done many times before- boiled eggs (soft to hard) in the microwave without any explosion. Without having that slightest clue that any thing can happen, I finished making my coffee while my egg was still in the microwave, boiling. Then after a moment there was a loud 'Boom'. It made a total mess inside and this forced me to clean my microwave second time in this month. I really should take precautions next time. Did you ever boil an egg in your microwave? If so, did it explode? What were your reactions?..For me it was totally not fun and I guess I cussed upon hearing the explosion.

I have never boiled an egg in a microwave before, the thought never crossed my mind I always boil my eggs on the stove top. Must have been a little scary hearing that!

I have heard that eggs in their shells explode inside a microwave. I wouln`t know as I almost don`t use the microwave oven. THere are lots of things that you can`t put inside a microwave. I prefer the normal kitchen and my small electric oven to cook.

Cooking eggs in the microwave is generally not a good idea. I laughed when I read this. There was a radio host back in another town I used to live in that would predict Superbowl winners and losers by painted team logos on two eggs and putting them in the microwave until one or both blew up. The team whose egg lasted the longest was supposed to be the winner. It was all a big joke though. Eggs don't take long to cook in a regular stove so I never take the risk of trying to cook them in the microwave.
