Holy week..
as a christian we celebrate such days yearly. And we know that this is the end of the lent season and the beginning of Easter.
Different countries celebrate such in different beliefs, Like from where came from. In my country Philippines we had this through street processions, and plays of the passion of christ "SENAKULO"..Every year each home parade their images of the story of Jesus and more. Hundreds of them are being paraded especially in BALIUAG.
Well another best known is in PAMPANGA, where people their re-enacted the passion of Christ and those Devotees nailed themselves in the cross while others whipped themselves with thorns until they bled.
I BELIEVE that what JESUS had done is the way TO REDEEM us all, showing Gods unconditional LOVE to mankind. This act of suffering symbolizes our FORGIVENESS.
The thing that i do not agree is those devotees who hurt themselves.. IN what JESUS had been, there is a reason about it "FOR ALL OF US". But to those devotee maybe for reason to ask for the forgiveness on what they've done wrong.
I watched some of it in TV and heared that this can cause DANGER to those who act..not only having INFECTION and tetanus but also, possible damage of artery that maybe hit that can cause much more RISK..
Actually i salute to those people's STRENGTH and display of FAITH. BUT i cant help myself being not so in agreeable with them doing such..
I KNOW that everyone has its own DEFINITION of faith but,,that is too much..
as may they call it " PENANCE"

There are so many ways in expressing your faith. To be a good Christian does not need mean to go to church every Sunday. I go to church when there are no people inside anymore. I feel more at peace and be able to meditate if i am alone. I really like the aura of churches. It does give you this safe refuge atmosphere. The churches here in Europe are cold and dark but the effect I get is still the same.
With crucifying and whatever a person chooses, I do respect it. As long as it strengthens his or his belief then so be it. Conversation with God is a very personal thing. One has to undergo pain in whatever way and feel hopeless to be able to submit himself or herself to the God that is unseen.

I agree with you. I also like going in the church with less people there so i can communicate with the Lord. Our churches here are simple but has lots of people
Since in my country people is very religious, there are those who had their own way of showing the FAITH they had..Maybe for us its not right, but for them is SUFFERINg is their way of PENANCE..

Eastern, the eggs.. it's all part of the early/earliest believes, celebrating new life (this is where the egg stands for). The new believe just took it over to make it easier for people to change religion. I am not interested in people who cruscify themselves nor in people who (threaten with) hungerstrike(s). Let all do what they want to do but do it for yourself. Unconditional love???

Respect there way on how they do there penitence. But if I will given a chance to do that I will never do that, that is not the only we can do other penitence. But I salute the people who is willing to be crucified and who is willing to hit there back and walked around.
