i just saw the flash news on tv. north korea has declared war with seoul. if they attack, the US will have to retaliate since there is a US military base in South Korea. what are the repercussions of this to the international community?
i don't want to sow panic but this is a grave situation. that new leader of north korea is threatening the world, not just south korea. countries are bound to take sides.
i hope this will only be threats and nothing more. i don't want to live thru a nuclear war.

Lets hope that it's just another new regime flexing it's muscles and rattling a few sabres to make it's self know and that they won't actually be stupid enough to follow it through.
The US is plenty big enough to take care of it's self against any threat, but it's a big risk as to how Russia and China will react. Will they protect their growing economic links with the West or side with their old buddies?
If things go sour out there it would be all too easy for the whole world to regret it in a very short time. So lets hope everybody has the common sense to calm down again.

one political analyst said that the north korean leader always issues threats against the south within a few weeks after an election. they elected a new leader last february. the analyst also said that it's just a show and nothing will really happen. let's hope he's right.

There is no way that North Korea can take on the muscle that America has, UNLESS, North Korea has strong allies who hate America, I have seen the nuclear capabilities of both USA and North Korea and there is a massive difference, if North Korea did strike America would squash it, my fear is that other countries would support North Korea, especially countries in the Middle East who do not like America. I am hoping it's all talk and will resort to nothingness and it'll all be forgotten.

This is sending the wrong messages. The North Koreans that is the people of North Koreans should recognise that this kind of behaviour is prehistoric to the twenty-first century. Countries that formally have leaders that threaten others with nuclear weapons should be removed of the weapons. They should try to make resolutions with the UN instead so that they can get trade going and get their country back on track. In hard economic times you always get these kinds of leaders.

Just relax, north korea do not have that ability to attack US,and actually they do not have the courage to attack south korea as well, they just threaten south korea aim to get more aid from other countries because the people in north korea are in suffering, they need more economic help from others, and I think the most important reason why north korea keep threaten others especially to US because they afraid attack by US so they want to negotiate with US and further more, they want a safe promise by US.
