Worried about the threats from North Korea

As some of you may know, my boyfriend is currently in South Korea for the U.S. Army. I figured it would be a relatively safe place to be considering he could be in Afghanistan or somewhere else. Since he left, I haven't been too worried about things until just recently.
North Korea has been in the news a lot lately and it's really starting to worry me. Just today I saw that they had declared a state of war on South Korea. I'm not sure what exactly this entails but to me, it doesn't sound too cheerful or friendly.
I'm constantly stressed now because I'm so worried about what's going on. My boyfriend was going to come back in May for my birthday and I'm hoping that he'll still be able to leave. I'm not just worried about that, what I'm really worried about his him being safe and nothing happening.
I know I'll be glad in October when he gets to leave Korea for good and get stationed in the U.S.

I actually thought of you when I heard the news about North Korea!
When they suddenly made these threats, and declaring war against the US, I immediately thought of people I know who are in South Korea because they're the ones immediately affected.
And then I thought of you and your bf. I hope he's doing fine. And all of these things from North Korea are just empty rhetoric!

He says everything is fine, I just hope he doesn't tell me that so I don't worry. Every time I hear something new I go on to the news website to read as much as I can. From what these sites say, they don't think these threats will be carried out but they are still on alert and I know that the major Army figures in South Korea have cancelled travel plans to stay in the country.
It's very scary to hear about all this so I try to avoid watching the news and I bug my boyfriend a hundred times a day asking if things really are ok. They seem to be fine but I still worry myself sick.

I'm kind of worried about that too. I was wondering how this will affect your boyfriend. I hope he will be home for your birthday too.

I'm so worried and I think about it whenever I stop to rest. He hasn't woken up yet but when he wakes up in about a half hour it will be his Sunday and I'll definitely be talking to him about the situation. I hope that he doesn't just say things to make me feel better and not make me worry, I want him to be honest and really tell me how things are over there because I'm worried sick
