New to mylot. Just wondering how I am doing. So far I am enjoying hearing about others and getting some good feedback. I am unsure about how often I should check in on discussions that I have started or have joined. I don't want to be rude and make people think that I am not interested. On the other hand I do not want to be glued to my computer. I feel kind of bad about posts that have no responses should I try to respond to those? Help me out here folks. What is the best way to go about being on mylot?

Welcome to mylot! I think that there`s no rule for that; you should not turn this into a hard work because it will take to fun out of it. Sometimes I check every day, sometimes less often. It depends on what I`m doing offline. Today, for instance, I will not be mylotting much. I am invited to my daughter`s home for egg`s searching with my grandkids. The egg haunting is much more important, don`t you think? Take care and happy mylotting.

Been there, done that today. Easter is very important as are the egg hunts. However, my aching back and I are glad that its almost over.

I suevived the egg haunting, but I almost didn`t make it 2 days ago, when one of my grandsons came so that I could teach him to make sushi. He left the kitchen a mess, I couldn`t sit down for hours and when I left I went to bed immediatly. I told him that I would not make sushi with him again. We could choose something easier.

I don't even know how to make sushi. Pizza is always the best way to go for me.

The best thing for you to do is, to comment back to a discussion, if you post a discussion when someone comment, on your discussion comment back to them, this let them know you care about, what they had to say to you, when you comment back to them.

Taking your advice, but what if I don't really have anything to add. Do I just write some fluff? Are 1 liners okay?

Mylot sends notifications to your mail about new discussions or new comments to your posts and discussions. Make sure you activate the setting in your mail account where it sends a message to your cell phone every time you have a new mail coming in; if there is any such service available in the website you are registered with. Dedicate a time frame where you check all your activities, and respond to comments and discussions in mylot. Doing this you won't be glued to your computer that much and still be in touch with the forum. Also, whenever you login, make sure to scroll through recent activities to and visit the comments you made earlier in case you replied to somebody's post cause we don't have a notification for that.
