A new brake job all around and a repaired muffler system and $450.00 later I will be rolling again...I have been without my ride since around Christmas, the weather is getting better and its time to get going again. Cars are expensive but they are good to have around.. You certainly miss them when they are not working... How about you are you lost without your car???

I am so so sick of cars...constant expense it seems. Yes, I am more than lost without my car as I work out of town. Currently I'm nursing some bad front struts or worse...an extremely bad upper front ball joint. It is almost scary to drive at this point. I am hoping and praying that I make it one more trip into work. My mechanic is picking it up this afternoon and working on it which is amazing and I did not expect it considering the holiday.

Well, the mechanic came and got it today and put it up on the lift. It is not as bad as first predicted but it is going to cost me some money that I would rather spend on other things. Being Easter, he decided he is going to do the work tomorrow. I have the day off so I can live without it for a day or so. I could never afford the payments on a new car and I'm not sure I'd put my money there even if I could. From what I am hearing from those that do buy new....they too have a lot of problems and still have the high monthly payments to boot. I get sick of the repairs but in all honesty, I'm usually pretty lucky with my used cars. I pay under 1000.00 for them and they usually last me 2 to 3 years ( a few have lasted longer) with repairs being way under what a car payment would be.

i love cars a lot and like to travel with car, i do not have my own car but my husband has for himself only.. well, i have seen that if we buy second hand car then all time we should take them for fixing and repairing and it costly, i prefer to not have a car but if i will have, i will go through new one.

Thanks for responding fun, but if I could afford a new car I would prefer one as well...I don't know anyone who would rather have a old car if they could afford a new car...Its good your hubby could afford a new car....

I had breaks done on my cars a few years ago. Cars are rather expensive but my mechanic told me that as good as I take care of the car I have I could run it until it has gone 250,000 miles. That a lot. Its at about 174,000 right now.

Almost half of my trip by car, other than walking or using a bike. Of course I am sad if my car can not be used. If the damage can I fix it, I certainly will do.
