The poison we eat

Today I read the following shocking statement in the media. Quote "I believe many of our country's chronic health problems would simply disappear if we paid attention to the root problem, the food we eat. According to the American diabetes association, an estimated 22.3 million people suffer from type 1 or type 2 diabetes in 2012, up from 17.5 million in 2007. Partly the government is to blame ..." unquote. I wonder if you agree with this statement.

China has a proveb: Get ill by the mouth, so I agree with this saying, and I think a eating habit is important for our health too, for instance, we should eat something on time, and we can gain weight when we eat much more food with high energy, in addition, we dont excessive diet if we want to lose weight, we must take care of my body health for our family.

it is true that people often are stubborn to eat whatever they want without regard to the effects on the food to their health. too much sugar and salt in the food market especially in the popular food chains. despite of the warnings and advices by the warnings and other concerned groups, people continue to satisfy their hedonistic tendencies.

I'm sure this is true. Refined sugars, junk food, soda, etc - are most likely at the root of the diabetes problems in the U.S. I don't doubt that. We have an abundance of food here in the U.S. --- whereas in other countries, they don't have enough! Strange and sad.

I thought that diabetes was caused by a problem in which your body does not produce the amount of insulin according to the food you eat. But besides that, I do think that we eat in a very unhealthy way. We eat too much fat and too much sugar. We don`t eat enough of the good carbos (legumes for instance). Eating well is better and less expensive.

This is true. Life so fast now a days that we just grab something very concentrated on sweet to get the body perked up for a while then another one to keep it going. Loads of carbohydrates from bread, pasta, rice, potato fries etc, not to mention the jams or the sauce that we put on top. This sugar turn into fat if not used. Our sense of taste has also been trained to love the too much of everything (too mush salt and sugar).

hi, you are right. Chronic health problems are due to unhealthy diet. Our health depends on the food we eat. Many people have the bad habits of eating junk food, oily food, drinking soft drinks and fatty food. For controlling diabetes such food should be avoided.
