I have a few large TV's that I don't have room for them in the house but I have only a 17 inch monitor and would love to know how to connect the computer to one of these TV's. So does anyone know how to hook the computer up to a TV to make the TV the monitor? Seen this on a computer show years ago but can't remember how to do it. Need help from someone that knows how to hook up a TV to the computer?

Hi Bluemaple and welcome to my lot. What you mean a VGA interface? Seen a TV hooked up on a computer show years ago and can't remember how they did it but know it can be done. I am one of those people that don't give up easily so will keep looking. Thanks have a great day.

I think there is an card that should be purchased to connect computer to the television. Now a days new televisions have enough provisions that can be used to connect the computer as television. I think it is good to have more technology that can be used for various purposes.

It depends on what kind of connectors you have on your video card. As another poster mentioned older crt tvs can be connected to a computer via RCA connections on the tv. The video connector is yellow. It is just a matter of getting all the right connectors and cables. Although something you might want to consider is that some standard tvs might not be good with the screen resolution as computer monitors. (Newer TVs should not have a problem). The older tvs usually could only do a screen resolution of 640 x 480. Good luck hope this helps.
