I am what is called a geller. I call myself a micro geller. I spend a lot of time designing and making new candles instead of "cranking" out a whole bunch of one design. This time I'm concentrating on 4th of July candles. The biggest problem with making gel candles is there is no such thing as white gel, so I decided the best way to avoid getting the gel cloudy from using paraffin for the white would be to pour a 1/4 inch on top of the totally cooled gel. That's when my husband told me about a great idea for using paraffin! I remember when people used paraffin to seal jelly and jams instead of putting covers on the jar! This was my husbands idea. Do you do an unusual craft or art? Do you have your family involved with it?

It's always a help to have another brain when it comes to running a business. I have three brains asking me if it's possible to use something in my designs. If I can't use the idea it's always kept in mind for a possibility down the road.

I have not heard of geller candles, but if this is something that work for you, then go with it, and if your husband is involved with, your business then that is great for the two of you, I hope everything works out, for the two of you.

Thanks for the kind words. Actually a "geller" makes gel candles. I'm hoping this will follow us into our retirement.

I have not heard of the term geller? sounds interesting especially since you make your own candles. How neat is that! I wish I has a artsy craftsy person but unfortunately no. I have a couple of friends who are and they make some amazing things!

I don't think it's even in the dictionary. I don't like "cutesy" crafts so the concept caught my eye. I believe the uniqueness of this art form and the scientific knowledge needed to do it is enough to make this an art form.
