Yet another way to save money that people dont pay attention to: No-Contract Cell Phone Plans. ive had Virgin Mobile for about 4yrs now, maybe a bit less or a bit longer, and i havent been unsatisfied since i joined. like most teens now a days, i dont like to talk on the phone..but ill text til my thumbs fall off! with that said, the $35 plan is the most crucial. yes, $35. i only get 300 minutes a month, but like i said before, i never talk on the phone. i get unlimited texting and data usage. why people are turned off by No-Contract phones? to be honest, i have no idea. its not like the service is any better or worse than the other companies and you can choose a phone thats just as good as the phones they have (including iphones). With No-Contract companies, though, you have to pay full price for the phone you want. so an iphone would probably cost you about $400. BUT, from how cheap the plans are, in the long run you save LITERALLY half of what you wouldve paid for a contract phone. Another plus, if you ever feel like you need to turn your phone off for financial reasons, by all means do so. no fees, no waiting, just go to your account and do it. turning it back on is just as simple. so why not give it a shot?

I flat out refuse to do a contract ever. Me and my husband both have pay as you go phones I have the $35 plan so people can call me and its free to answer I get 150 minutes a month. I never run out. My husband has the $15 plan we can text and phone each other unlimited, and he can text anyone else unlimited

i never got into the pay as you go phones but if you just need a phone, no special features or whatever, then i agree, thats definitely the way to go

I have special features, I have call display, I have call waiting, I have messages, I have the internet. I pay $35 a month before I use it and on the 8th of every month it runs out. If there is a balance on my phone I can still make calls and text but it costs for every one I do. But if I top up to the $35 before the 8th it goes with out interruption. I think it's great. I just don't get a bill and if I don't need my phone I don't absolutely need to put money on it.
