Hello ,my pals! I don't know exactly whether there is such a topic or not but I came up with one serious question. I've been dreaming for the past two years about buying a guitar. What I can't decide is what type of guitar i wanan buy - steel string or nylon string acoustic. I personally prefer classical guitar but I heard that it's basically suited for playing classical pieces and I think they're pretty boring to play. So what would ya suggest? Is nylon guitar suitable for various ranges of music? P.S. Sorry for bad English, still at High school :).

Hi,
My son is fond of playing musical instruments. He has bought guitar one year ago. It is acoustic guitar. I don't know it has steel strings or nylon strings. Because he has not brought to our house yet so I haven't seen it. We are shifted to new house two months before. My son was staying with his friends before.

Hello there! Whatever his guitar is I hope he'll succeed in mastering this instrument. Actually I have friends who are playing both of these guitars and all they agree that guitar is a wonderful instrument. So good luck to your child!

It's suitable for lots of styles, yes. I would say from tanto to flamenco and other stuff. But with a guitar with steel strings you can play from folk, rock, jazz, blues to many other styles. I would recommend you to buy a steel stringed guitar. It's more versatile.

Thanks for a response. I'll take into account your suggestion when choosing the guitar, playing many music styles sounds great :)
