I am in the USA so yes it's popular here. I am staying home and hopefully not going to get fooled today. Though my sister will be coming by and she may just fool me if she has the chance to.

A few years ago I was reading my towns local newspaper. Everything seemed normal. I was suprised by some of the changes they would be making at the school and worried about someones car accident. The next day I was discussing the news (gossip) with my mom. She told me that the whole darn paper was all a joke. Because the paper came out on April 1. I was so annoyed, and a bit embarassed. She had thought it was real too. In very small print on 1 of the pages it read that it was for April fools day. Uhhhm......NOT COOL.

Hi youless, I'm glad that it's no longer that popular like years ago. Yeah, that time many innocent people suffered from the serious pranks. The firemen were exhausted as almost all the emergency calls had been made as pranks. Nowadays those culprits that purposely make any prankish calls to any department like calling 999 will be punished severely. Since then seems that such undesirable pranks rarely or even never happen anymore. Countless of tragedies would happen if the pranks are too much
Having some fun in April Fool's Day is still very welcome for most of the school children and is available in working places as well. There is no harm to fool someone to make the day bright and vivid as long as the prank is mild as well as acceptable and doesn't bring any undesirable consequence
Happy posting

Fortunatly, April Fool`s day is not yet popular in our country. I say not "yet" because there are many imported holidays now that have nothing to do with our customs. But we have Halloween here now and it is an imported holiday

Being in the U.S., April Fools day is pretty big here. Fortunately, most of my family has grown up around me and I no longer get taken in by April Fools pranks.

It is not that common here, there are ones who know about it but some still don't or just don't care too, it is not that significant.
