If you want to play the games, chat or surf online only, then it is fine to buy a tablet because it is much more convenient and portable than the laptop. However, if you want to do more things such as editing the photo, writing, online banking etc, then of course you shall choose a laptop.

Depending on which you are comfortable with, the laptop has more features compared to tablet which only has limited features. I use tablet to store my pictures on it for easy browsing, but for surfing the net i don't find it comfortable maybe i'm not used to it. Unlike laptop much more convenient for me in surfing the net and doing my reports using Microsoft software.

If you like to travelling I think tablet is good for you. Not only cheap but it also easier to carry and easy to surfing internet everywhere. If you have something to typedI think laptop is better for you. By the way the last decision is depend on you.

I have a netbook which I used to carry with me everywhere I go. I was convinced then that my netbook was the best tool I could use when I should be away from my desktop. When I acquired my tablet about four months ago, it seemed I didn't have a use for my netbook anymore because my tablet and I became bestfriends. I thought my netbook has become too heavy for me compared to my tablet. But of course, there are still a lot of limitations to tablet compared to the netbook when you need to work outside. My point is, and in answer to your question, yes, tablet is good and very useful travelling buddy.

We bought an acer tablet at best buy almost a yr ago. I love mine and use it all the time when I have WiFi access. I have heard people say for the price it is one of the best brands out there. Do some research on them and see if this would work for you. I post in here quite a bit

HI Ajithlal,
Very good Idea, I too wish to buy a tablet with in next six months. Because it is useful to me on my journeys, any how I am having desk top at my home. Now a days tablets are accessed with USB dongle connection and with Sim card option also for using internet. Using internet with sim card is cheap when compared with USB modem, have a nice day.

Tablets are useful for travel. If you want a tablet that you can do work on while traveling you will probably want a Windows tablet. If you want a less expensive tablet that is still good for just browsing the internet and using apps and such, then Android are good ones. There is also the popular iPad which is more expensive though, so if you were going to spend that kind of money, I would go with a more useful tablet that can do more, like a Windows one.

Tablets are modern electronic gadgets and today calls ' Pads ' with cell telephone features and others, a wonderful modern day tools which have became a norm to use for every young and old ! battery consumption is heavy especially in playing games !

Well to my opinion, laptop has many possible uses than tablet. But if your only need is surfing the net, basic work in offices (like word, p.point, excel etc) and games, tablet is enough for you. But for somebody such as computer programmer, they may prefer using laptop since it is more convenient to do their work in laptop. Overall, tablets are as useful as laptop, so it depends on your need actually.
