myLot population - an analysis

As you will have seen there is a tab http://www.mylot.com/w/topusers/1.aspx where we get to see total users by rating.
I spent some time studying this analysis and I was confused to see that there are several thousands who have not gone beyond one post. I looked at the profile of some users with a single posting and did not understand how there could be so many visitors to their profile. For example http://www.mylot.com/mzzdana this user has 265 visitors.
What is your understanding?

I saw that. I am number 28 of the list of top users of My Lot. Have a look at number one and she has a very over 58,000 posts on My Lot. The list is based on the number of posts. In a popular topic like "life" many My Lot members will be rated on that. In an obscure topic only My Lot member might have that one. So he or she could be the number one. Look at which countries My lot members come from and you will notice many haven't disclosed which country they come from. One member might get many visitors. Like he began 7 years ago yet only has one post for example.

I was referring to those users who have no activity but several visitors to their profiles.

You're on the first page! That's a nice accomplishment in itself.
I don't know how someone with only one post or none have many profile views.

I have not gone into an indepth analysis ; however, on a cursory glance I feel that if you go by elimination and go to category of places, it becomes a matter of number in the bracket that determines the order .Whether it is rating is something that needs my time now and I would rather accept it if you say so.
Regarding your last question , it showed '10 profle views for today' and 265 alltime. THis is not impossible if you just tend to imagine that this user after registering himself spoke to many friends and relatives , invited a number of people as referrals , and they in turn spread some word of mouth resulting in 265 idle visits or may be even some referrals over four years.

hi kalab and allknowing so many come here with totally unrealistic ideas of how much money they can make.,
when I first came I was making two dollars a day but there were a lot fewer of us and n ow I just made 18 dollars and 42 cents but yesterday's earnings have not been posted yet.
So i really think so many come with ideas of making thew same amount they would in an off line job and that just does not
happen here.

It is not fair to myLot really when users just do not have any activity and that too so many of them!

I think that there were a lot of members who really wanted to connect with her and probably those people got interested with what that person have said on one of the posts that she participated in.
She is no longer active, though.

If you want to respond to a topic do you go to users' profile pages? I don't. When one sees visitors to a profile that profile owner has a lot of activity to their credit but here it is nil.
I am not convinced!

You're right! Do you think that she must have manipulated in a way? I mean maybe she created other accounts and used different IP addresses....well, I am just guessing. She surely won't gain anything even if she had 1000 views. Or maybe she was able to convince a few people to sign up under her name. Maybe she has formed a group which intended to act as her referrals for the different sites she has joined.

It's possible that she was using her profile page as landing page of her referral link.
As you might already know, you can also append "?ref=username" to the end of any URL on myLot and create a custom referral link.
It's also possible that she was actually creating lots of posts - but most of them are against the guidelines, so admin had deleted it.

There are thousands of them here. I doubt if they posted activities that went against guidelines
Normally if they get referrals they are included in the friends' list but we do not see of it on their profile page. I am still not clear on this.

It is not a concern but just trying to understand. If you look at the pages there are scores of such users - thousands of them.

You make me happy. I am on page 8 and I have 1,986 visitors. I think I am popular, he he. I am aiming to be on page 5 at least before the end of the year.
Thank you for sharing this discussion, I am not aware about this.
Have a wonderful day!

myLot is magnanimous in that it provides so much of information for users to glean through. I feel a bit uncomfortable though that there are scores here who have not contributed to the myLot kitty but made use of this site for their own gain!

I see no value in doing such analysis on data which is never maintained. Once you open your account and then never ever return back, your profile would still exist here on MyLot. Though they have a rule that to retain your earnings you should log in at least once within 90 days, they have no information of how long your profile exists here. That makes all the figures absolutely wrong - I mean there are hardly around 500 users who are regular but the figures all are dicey.

Thosoe who have left many of them have their profiles with a lot of activity. I was referring to those who have no activity and yet they have so many visiting their profile pages.

To visit a page that has zero activity I don't think that could be considered normal.
