I have a burning desire for buying and wanting new things especially electronic items. I most times tries to control it, but still have the burning desire in my mind. Like a child in the candy shop, I wanted to buy lots of things like tablet, laptop, hard disk, dth connection even though I have cable, etc etc and I have noticed something. After buying anything, I have less interest on it and my interest goes to another thing so I have stopped buying anything. Why these desires comes to our minds and why do have less interest in getting the things or show less interest on things we have?

I think it is desire that makes people buy new things that comes out and most probably one has to control these desires.

It is normal, just like me I always want a new gadget. New gadgets like ipad, ipod, psp. iphone, samsung galaxy and so on are tempting because of thier good features. But if you don't need a new gadget don't buy it instead use your money in other way. :)

I guess it is human nature to desire for something you like to have or acquire. I think for as long as you can control which you will get and those that you really do not need then I think it is normal to have those kinds of feelings there is nothing wrong with it unless you have no control on acting on all of your desires.

It means that you are challenged to buy something then gets to just keep it after. Well, that could be probably hoarding. You should really try to control yourself if not, you will end up living in a house full of unused stuff.

Oh yes! Desires are normal. We have so many chains forged on us, that I think desires are a way to keep us free sometimes. when you indulge in a desire you have fun. Fun is a good thing, we feel good and enjoy ourselves. desires are good, as long as they do not hurt another being.

Most of the time I am like that. And if I didn't get what I want, I became very depressed and disappointed. But, after getting what I want, I couldn't feel satisfaction anymore. I guess, it's always like that. I easily get bored and will never be satisfied. Things are always changing and upgrading.

Hi ajithlal: Definitely. We are humans after all. Desires are a part of our humanity. But we are more than our passions. We are also reasonable. Combine both reason and passion and think if you really need to buy this new product you're dreaming and if it really worth to pay the money.. Also, think if you can wait and maybe find a better offer. ALVARO

That is absolutely normal because we see other people who have these gadgets, so we get jealous and wished that we also have the same things. Desiring is just natural but if you really pushed yourself to buy these things even if you cannot afford them, and prioritize them over other necessary things, then that is where the problem arise. You need to have control. Do not let yourself to be such a big spender. Discipline yourself.
