There is a lot of junk in the world

. . So why should we buy more? Every day we use many things for grooming, for work, for pleasure and other things and most of them are non-recyclable.
The government has assigned different projects to help save the environment. To re-use things that we could still use. This doesn't just apply to my country to all over the world. Garbage disposal units had been very strict that trash should be segregated. There are even people who earn money from collecting recyclable materials.
As a concern citizen and home-owner of the planet earth, I do my part my segregating the trash, re-using office supplies like paper, re-using plastic containers at home. My family does its best to help save the environment so my child could still see the beautiful place we have now.
I would like to contribute as much as I could. The basics like throwing trash at the right place, not using too much plastic bags. I feel good being a help than a burden to the world.
Have a great day!

Mabuhay, leateagee ! (long live, leateagee!)
I felt like reading one of the platforms of a candidate running for a post this coming May elections! But really, I do think that it is the least that we can do to save our planet from becoming a big dump throughout the universe.

Talking about recycling,I'm concerned about the growing electronic and digital trash.People seems to follow latest trends in the digital world, and outdated items keeps on filling as trash. As human as I am I'm sometimes guilty of these. My last mobile phone was my companion for 5 years,it's still usable though with minor problems, but with touch screens and smartphones now coming,I can't help it but to buy a smartphone and just set aside my old phone. The difference is I just can't throw it like ordinary garbage so it's just filling up along with old electronics item.I tried selling it in stalls which fixes old phones and they are just paying it for a dollar or less. There are companies which which buys back outdated but it's not accessible most of the times.

. You are correct. We have several used phones here too. Actually in one of the malls here, there is a box hat says "drop old mobile phones here to help save the world ". I am guilt, I couldn't let go of the old electronics we have. I have to decide soon. Sell them for cheaper price or drop it to save planet earth.

I like shopping at a bulk food store where food is stored in bins without packaging. It cuts down on much but still requires plastic bags but I use them for other purposes as well. Also, people in the story must be concerned about hygienic practices, like not using there hands to take out items or it will not work.
I find home gardening is all about recycling. Also in the parking lot where I live people put items there that others can take if they wish rather than throw out.
As a planet we need to invest in better garbage methods.
Have you seen the animated movie with the little square garbage collector? It is getting to be an old one now.

. Oh, I remember that movie, it's Wall E. I like that movie.
True. It is better to buy in bulks. I agree that we have to consider hygiene.
I hope someone could think of a better garbage disposal method here.

Yes thank you for recalling the name. Did you see all the garbage? Wow. I understand we have a lot of things in orbit now too. I remember seeing in the movie how the earth looked so cluttered even from afar.
Perhaps, someday in the future those garbage places we created will become valuable for people throw out so many things. Recycling depends on a usefulness of raw materials that are not to expensive to get.

Indeed, the amount of non-recyclable rubbish are increasing as the world population increases. These rubbish will eventually give its effect on our Earth. Everyone should play their part to reduce these rubbish and to educate others in doing so. I did my part to make sure the trash are thrown to the right place. Of course if it is not necessary to use plastic bag, I would not use it too. The Earth belongs to all of us and taking care of it is our responsibility.

Hi friend, you are very kind. You start from yourself and your family. I think your family is wise family and realize about environment. I also sort our junk to split what material that can re-using and can be recycling to help reduce junk in the our environment. I thankful to people who work on junk, they have support to save our earth from global warming.

. Good to know that you also take time to sort out materials that can be recycled. Everything starts in our family before it becomes a community task. Have a great day!

My local council has an excellent recycling system. It gives every household a green box, a tiny brown box and a green bag. In the green boxes go paper, card, glass, tin, plastic and tetra packs. In the tiny brown box I put food scraps like fruit and vegetable cuttings. I like to buy toilet paper made from recycled paper. Our rubbish goes once every two weeks. Our recycling goes once every week. We put all rubbish in a bin. We never drop litter. I have shopping bags which are strong and I reuse them on every shopping trip. I don't get plastic bags at the shop check out desks. I care about the environment and I eat a vegan diet.

Wow! You are a real and serious environmentalist too. I thought I was crazy to be doing all the trouble but you do more than we do here. I also admire your local council for implementing a strict discipline and supporting the neighborhood with bags and boxes to use for their trash.

That's the best we can do to help our environment.
Waste segregation practiced by many cities here and it's working.
It only takes a little discipline to keep the world we live in a healthy planet to live in.

Great job, keep it up! My home is just like recycling
centre and my eldest sister will bring recyclable items for me to
recyle. I also segregate the trash and the Recycle Truck will come
and pick them up every Wednesday. I normally will reuse the items at
home. We really need to be environmental friendly in order to protect
our mother earth for the future generation.

I am happy to meet another serious environmentalist. Doing the recycling thing doesn't make us poor, it makes us more loving because we protect our planet and we preserve the place for the next generation to enjoy!

I'm concern so much too about the junk and plastics I throw everyday. When I buy shampoos I don't know if I should buy those in bottles or those in sachets. Plastic sachets makes a lot of clutter. Hope we can dispose them easily.

I am glad you are also concern. You just answered your question. It is better to buy shampoo in a bottle. Plastic takes many years to dissolve when buried in the ground.

RA 9003 or Solid Waste Management Act has been implemented for the purpose of reducing waste in our surroundings. Actually, this is a part of the barangay concern to disseminate the news to their respective areas of jurisdiction.
If you could encourage your community to do it then you might be awarded.
Have wonderful day!

One step at a time... Your contributions would mean a lot in the future. This is why there is a good move now in the Philippines to use paper bags rather than plastics. Grocery stores are starting while the SME's are on their way :), one district at a time...
We should also start a movement, you know! Vote for leateagee!

Nice and true said. I also save paper and also here one point is missing to save electricity and indirectly save water. In coming days this is again a big issue and we have to save water and electricity. And yes I reuse papers and dont use plastic bags at all instead use paper bags. They are even more trendy. Have a great day!!!

. True. Thanks for bringing that up. We should just be talking about the papers and plastics for recycling BUT also we have to save from the resources we have now.
