We all know that Asian women won't have white skin when they was born but right now many Asian women try many ways/methods to get white skin even though it is dangerous to their health/skin because of cheap cream with harm chemicals...
I really don't understand why how much they are wishful with white skin and they are not confident if they have dark skin. In my opinion, nice skin, beauty skin is it has no pimple, looks healthy, it doesn't matter it is yellowish, dark or white...

Yeah, that's good I think. I have pale skin but I love it too, I have no idea to change it become white with toxic chemicals/cream at all...if I get tan in the summer it is ok also, I am not confident if I have many pimples only, not because I am not white ...

It pisses me off too why usually women my age are so desperate to become white.
They think white is beautiful and whenever they see a white skinned woman walking around, they think she's pretty. Though when I look properly at that fair skinned woman, she ain't pretty at all. her beauty is typical and not special, no matter how much make up she might put on there.
I believe girls who take care of themselves, who groom themselves without conforming to what everyone might believe to be pretty are the truly beautiful women.
haha, I have tan skin and I don't bother with getting myself white. I see people who try hard to be white and I think they are such losers, they can't even accept their natural look.

exactly..i agree with you too, they can't except their natural skin, they are such losers...
Any skin color has unique beauty and we should care our skin healthier, not changing it become white.
I have many friends, who always try to change their skin color, i told them, don't need to do like that, just be you because with Asian skin/shape, black hairs, you look great already, but it seems that they always love white skin..

Yes. Have you seen the actress Shay Mitchell? She's gorgeous and her skin is well tanned. While her other co-actresses have porcelain white skin, she is proud to carry her tan skin around, it makes her stand out. She's absolutely pretty without trying too hard. This actress is an inspiration to me.

Maybe they are insecure so they can't accept their skin. I think trying to whiten ourselves is completely useless and expensive. What a waste of money.

I guess this is where the old concept/notion about human behavior comes in.That we humans have no satisfaction, if we see something new we want to have it or we like to posses the same thing. Even to the extent of harming our self. I am proud to be of Asian origin and I love what I am and I don't envy others if they have different colors especially the skin.

Yeah, me too, i am proud with Asian shape and skin, and i have no idea to change my skin color at all.
In here, some people are not friendly with people who have dark skin, i feel that it is truly terrible, skin color doesn't mean anything about a person, their education, their behavior, their character will show how they are...

Why are some people so judgemental. Skin color is not a basis of superiority of an individual especially with regards to talents or their abilities. We are born equal, what other colored people excels in, others can do too especially if given the chance.

A woman is never satisfied with what she has. So if she has a fair skin, she would want to have that tan. And if the has that olive green color, well, she'd try to have a lighter skin color. It is just the same as those who have curly hair to have it straightened out and vice versa.

The best beauty is we are confident with our appearance, make it becomes our unique character...I always tell my sister, better we should have healthy skin, don't need convert it become white. In here, many women got bad problem with their skin after trying many ways to convert their skin become white by applying many cream, chemicals on skin, but no one cares about it, they still want to change their skin color in a short time...

yes i agree. But i have seen people giving importance to those who are fair/white .May be this makes the people to think about the white skin. The glamour industry also gives importance to white people this makes the dark people feel inferior.

Well, maybe yes, there are a lot of Asian women who wants to have white skin but others really just want to have an even out skin tone. The climate in Asian countries are quite warm which may result to uneven skin tone with regards to the area of the skin being exposed to the sun and not being exposed.

I know Asian people have darker skin if their countries are in tropical zone. It is normal because of the sun. But it is still nice I think, don't need to take whitening bathing/ cream to change skin color. In fact some people in the south Vietnam said that if they stay during winter time in the north Vietnam, their skin will be fairer.

I recall a few years ago, there was a buzz on a face cream commercial because of their play on the importance of having white skin. The commercial was about a ballet audition and the reason why the girl wasn't chosen was because she didn't "stand out" because of not having white skin. It had nothing to do with the talent or skill connected with the supposed audition. I don't know why a lot of Asians think being pale is beautiful when we have beautiful skin hues.
I am naturally fair skinned but I hate it. I look pale and sickly so what I do is I try to tan myself as much as I can. Whenever my friends and I go to the beach or go mountain climbing, I try to get as much sun exposure as I can.

This is a good question. I think this is because of the culture difference. People all appreciate to the different look. This is just like the western women prefer to have the darker skin. They go to the beach or even go to the beauty salon to have the sun bath. The pale color stands for the weak. But here it is different. Here if you have white skin, then you are usually regarded to be pretty. How interesting it is!

i have no idea why either. i guess most women just think they are not beautiful. my son and a lot of men think asian, olive/and or darker skin is beautiful. they particularly prefer it. but then maybe the asian women dont care much for lighter men and only want the darker men and thinking those asian men prefer light skin? its a sad mess isnt it?

yeah, i agree with you too, olive or dark skin is beautiful also, not only white skin. I have pale skin but i never prefer to get white skin by whitening bathing or using whitening cream at all, i just do care my skin become healthier only.
I love natural skin color, if i know that a man/a woman tried many ways to change their skin color, i don't like it at all.

Some people use it because of uneven skin color or so I hear. Here in the states they like to fry pasty people up real nice in the tanning beds. No one is ever happy with what they've already got.

i think because it is embedded in the minds of most especially the dark skinned or asian women that having white complexion is more attractive. so they try to get rid of their natural color by applying whitening products. it is always believed and seen that having white complexion is more favorable than brown or dark skin..so it becomes a craze for them..and also white women want to become browned or dark skinned by tanning themselves,.they want to look exotic..to them that is more beautiful too..different people have different mindsets and mentality..few actually love and embrace their natural skin and color.

yeah, you are right..people don't want to accept their natural skin color and just wanna change it...
with me, natural color skin is the best, we don't need to spend much money for changing it..because it fit with our appearance already, i.e. yellowish skin with black hairs, black eyes...

Hi ryanong
yes i agree Asian women love white skin. Even on television they show many shows which give a lot of importance o white skin. In one way they are using the weakness of ladies/people to sell their products. I think we give importance because its general that people crave for the things they dont have. This may be the reason why asian women want it.
But as you said yes we should have a healthy skin that's more important than anything . Healthy skin matters not the color. But people always like to have fair/white skin.

Exactly...daily i read many news related to whitening bathing accidents, and many women have to pay expensive for it, their skin got big problem and it may not be back to normal.
I remember When i was a kid, i was very active, always going out under the sun then my skin looked dark, and my mom and my brother often teased me about my skin. However, later when i grow up, my skin is the brightest one in my family, not dark anymore...I think sometime people around do tease the others about their skin, that's why they try any way to change it...

yes people want to get white for recognition. I have seen few people who are ignored due to their dark skin color. Such situations makes them feel bad and they go upto any extent to get the required color. Some even become mad about it and want to achieve it at any cost. But overall this is not good at all.

Now I remember when i had a little talk with an English man. By the way, im a Filipino but not one of those girls who struggles hard to have a fair skin. Im happy with my tan skin although I must admit that I also find people wit fair skin attractive. The man told me about what he had discovered with girls in our country. He said girls here were beautiful. I told him I cant believe it cause there were many beautiful girls from UK. The man laughed and said,, tsk tsk. Did you know that women from my country spends thousands of dollars just to get the tan skin that they want? And you Asian girls tend to get whiter? I thought it was kinda funny.

My skin is Yellowish by birth because my father is a Chinese. Many of my friends, cousins, sister-in-law envies my skin but I keep telling them that people with white skins normally have internal health problems just like me. I was diagnose with MVP and most of my friends who are also white skin toned either have Asthma or Skin Allergies. I also told them that it is hard have white skin, a few soft blemish on our skin and it is already noticeable just like on our armpits which for some of us change color during pregnancy. My morena and dark skin toned relatives and friends would buy and spend money on anything that can make them white skinned, even if this are product that have not yet been tested. I too don't know why they dont like having dark skin but they should know dark skin people have more melanin than white ones.

ah yes, with dark skin, you don't need to worry much about sun burn when you go out. My friend who has very dark skin and i went out under the sun, i felt that my skin is burnt, so hot while my friend didn't get it. At that time, i did wish my skin is dark too, then i may not get hot sun burn...

Actually being born in Asian country, I noticed that some races do have many women with light colored skin tone. So some of them are born white and there is nothing wrong with that. Some are born with darker skin tone and they tend to believe that white or light skin tone is more attractive. Well, this is quite true as most Asian people have the perception that light skin tone is more attractive for women.
Of course I do not encourage the use of chemically dangerous products to lighten one's skin tone. There are some products that are much safer and natural yet effective to lighten the skin tone too. Anyway, darker skin tone can be attractive too as long as the skin is healthy like you mentioned.

You are so right , Asians love to have white skin than being fair or tan.In my mind , white looks more attractive , clean and fits top any dress color. That is why , we strive to make our skin white , from natural means to the Science new discoveries , anything that can makes our skin white , we try and try.

It is similar to sun tanning by white ladies. All need to change. Perhaps change is the most beautiful aspect of life.

If every women do not mind their skin color, there will be no business for those company selling such products, haha! Just kidding!
I do agree with you most Asian women love to have fairer skin. Howerver, others who are having a darker skin will yearn to have fairer skin and vice versa. But, I notice some of those who are fairer tend to have sensitive skin. As for me, I rather let it be natural and just eat more healthily. With healthy food, I believe my skin will look more healthier.
