I once had a student who is now successful in his chosen field and who always inspires me every time I meet him and he introduces me to everyone as "my favorite teacher." Isn't it nice to hear that? This particular student has become a good friend of mine who I only meet on certain occasions and who always tells everyone that I was his favorite teacher. I am always happy and proud to hear that even if he is only saying that to make me happy.
Have you heard compliments like that? Where and from whom? Share your experience.

Doesn't that send a warm glow down your back at hearing that, knowing that you made a great impact on their life? It's wonderful to be appreciated. When I worked at a primary school as part of my college course, I had to help the teacher take the children swimming, and there was this one boy who just wouldn't get into the water, the teacher was busy helping the others to swim, and obviously couldn't take her focus away for this boy, so she asked me to watch over him. Well I encouraged him to get into the water, and once he had done that, joined the others, well after that, his mum would compliment me, and the teacher would say, well he sure had the patience of a saint, I took that as a compliment, although she said it in front of the boys mum which I didn't think was appropriate, meaning that she was cross that her boy was so stubborn about getting in the water in the first place.

I have never been a teacher but I am a tutor to most of my husband's nieces and nephews. And when these kids are complemented with how great they are with their school grades, they would always include my name saying that if I did not help them, they would have a difficult time with having good grades.

Thanks, Cutie18f! Just knowing that they are able to cope up with their lessons is enough for me. After all, I treat all of them like they were my own kids.

When I used to work at the hospital, we had patients that I would call "frequent fliers." These were the patients that spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital. I had several patients that would ask if I was still on the floor when they were admitted back into the hospital and would request that I be the only assistant that would take care of them during the night shift. This always was quite a nice feeling to have when there were patients that were requesting me.

thats so nice :) i love stuff like that, it always makes you nice and warm inside you you drank a honey tea.
were you his teacher for the field he has excelled in? If so, you do deserve the congratulations because that is more than just teaching a subject. that is inspiration and keeping everything interesting.
I have had a few teachers I introduce as that. the only times i do is when they have really made a difference in my life somehow. for example, my high school english teacher for grade 10 gave me the chance to not only finish the course but do well in it. he also was always there when i needed it.
once i was really mad at him for talking to another one of my teachers behind my back but it ended up helping me the following year at school.
those teachers or people you introduce as your favorite will never leave you and im glad that he still visits you :)
ive had little kids introduce me before as their favorite. and even though you know that it is only as temporary as their attention-span, it can really put a big smile on your face to know you are so loved.

yes I bet it is, I have always thought of going into teaching I know that its hard work because my partner has done for about 8 years know but I know that's its a most rewarding job. The added bonus of being a teacher is that you get lots of time off in the summer and bank holidays, but as I said I know that's hard work.

For a teacher, it is always wonderful to come across any student who considers him or her as ‘favourite teacher.’ Deep down, every teacher wants all his students to consider him to be the favourite. Every teacher wants his students to praise and admire him.

Hi,
It must be very proud feeling for you when student introduced like his favorite teacher. Teaching profession is very respectable profession. Teachers are responsible for molding the career of the students. My wife's students always respect me among public. they are poor and we help them in studying and in other problems. So they always show their gratitude for us. two of her students are always ready to help us. They have made our life happy. They are always with us in any problem.
