My father in law can not sleep without covering his face and lights on, but since I am the one whose in charge to take care of him I told him not to cover his face and were going to open the lights for the whole night so that i can see him properly. As a nurse I always do my assessments and vital signs every 4 hours so that i will notice easily if there something changes to his condition. Good thing he's still sleeping right now and just covering his eyes. I am glad that he always following my orders after all this is for his own good. Good morning!

Just like you FIL i can't sleep with the lights on. Thus, i always cover my eyes with a blindfold that was given to me by an auntie who came from abroad.
Actually, a blindfold can just be purchased at the department store. My daughter had one bought when she last came home from school vacation.

My husband using blindfold too when sleeping, but my FIL covering his whole face when sleeping which not good for my assessment. I always need to see the color of his face and lips.

I have known for some people to sleep with covering their face. I can't do that I feel like I suffocate myself doing it. I'm glad he is listening to you though and your taken well care of him. I'm sure he definitely appreciates it.

I can understand him not liking the light in his face when
trying to sleep..so maybe there is a way he can shade the
light in his face because I do understand it can be very
distracting to have the light in your face when trying to
sleep... I don't think that he just wants to defy you.

You are such a good and caring nurse. It's a good thing that he listens to you so you can monitor him and make sure that he's alright the whole night. He's lucky to have you to take care of him.
