I Had Surgery The Other Day

I went through a new and kinda weird experience this past Thursday. I had surgery to have a lump removed. I have never had surgery on any part of my body before and in a way I feel like it's not natural. I believe we should not have to go through many of the things we do when it comes to the health of our bodies and the main things doing this is technology so things can be more convenient and some things are not even necessary like ingredients in many foods.
Anyway, this discussion isn't about blasting big business it's about my experience. So I had it removed and it took around 2 hours but since I was sedated, it seemed like 2 seconds lol. I was under observation afterward and was driven home. Currently, I am doing ok. I'm not sure how much pain was expected but I think I'm doing pretty good. I do have pain but it's more of a crampy, annoying yucky feeling from the area up to the lower stomach. Part of it may be because I started taking the pain meds before the shot they gave me wore off as a preventative measure. I don't know what it is, they will let me know at the post-op appointment. It was sent for a biopsy. I'm optimistic though because it was very small, I actually found it by accident, it has not grown and it's not located on any vital organs. Either it's nothing to worry about or I slowed it down possibly due to eating all the foods and herbs that have antioxidants.
Thanks for reading,

You may have slowed the growth down. Glad all went well. I have a cyst on one ovary and the doctor said that a lot of time another grows in about a years time. And if there was an entire hysterectomy would be done. Another would did grow and so it was all taken out. Hope yours goes well.

This was back in the 70's and they may do things differently now. I think in some cases you can even take some medication that disolves them now. Not sure. You're welcome for the support. Been there and done that so know what its like.

Thank you very very much for your support. I did not know that about cysts, although I would rather it be minor like that it is not cool that they come back. Minor or not, these and similar type of things don't belong there. Can't help that though lol

I'm not sure but my hospital is pretty high tech and they didn't offer that. I'm glad it was taken out manually though that way it might not come back although one other response here mentioned it could anyway. Just glad it isn't cancer.

6 years ago I had similar experience, I had a lump removed. I was only in my 20s then. I discovered it through self examination and went for a scan on my own. It was hard because I did not want my parents to worry but there was no way to hide from them. So I told them eventually.
It was a fast process: made appointment with surgeon, went in for day surgery and waited for biopsy result. I remember that day I was the youngest person in the waiting room and alone. They made me climb onto the surgical table on my own before I was put to sleep. After a week, the result came back negative.
I hope yours will be the same too. Don't worry too much and keep living a healthy lifestyle.

That must have been difficult. I also got a fast response. Surgery was scheduled for the next week after check up and post op will be next week which is two weeks from date of surgery.
If it is bad, it has not grown since I first found it so leading a healthy lifestyle is at the top of the list and maybe prevented it from growing. I drink lots of tea with various herbs and use a variety of herbs in my cooking. I do drink sometime and smoke but I make the best effort to do things that may counteract the bad effects of the habits.

I hope you are alright, and everything works out for you,you remind me of the time, when I had surgery to have lump removed, I stayed in the hospital for a week, I was suppose to go home, later that week after my surgery, but my blood sugar kept going up, so they kept me there until it was normal again, but this was7 years ago.

I'm doing much better now. I was able to walk the same day but there was pain when I sat down because of the area it was in, lower stomach, like around the waist area. Thank you for your concern :)

It's a good thing that you have a positive note in your discussion.
Having it removed while it is small is one way of arresting a disease before it escalates.
I hope it will just be benign , my friend.

Yes thank you. I totally agree removing it while it's small is the best option as far as preventative measures. I hope so too and thank you again :)
