i had no idea why, i did watch a Thai horror movie in the afternoon but it did not scare me and i did not imagine scary stuff. I just spent hours staring at the ceiling and being restless, and even though it was at night, many vehicles still passed by and the dog always barking did not help. It was kind of freaky, although i did not feel scared.. i just could not sleep, i did not even try to look at the time since it might scare me more- it might be 3 or 4 am. Do you even have nights like these?

Maybe there was something on your mind. Or you ate too much. And sometimes a little something before you go to bed helps. I have nights like these all the time. It goes along with my severe depression.

Yes. I have cable stations that play different types of music. If it gets too bad I turn one of them on.

It is better to see a movie or any ascertainment, when you have many tasks in mind. If you are totally free, all the scenes will stay in your mind for some good hours. So when you are free, do something creative. Thats good for mind and health.

I have not experienced such and if ever the most is two hours and before I know it I'm in deep sleep. Maybe there is something in your mind that is bothering you. You can forget them for a while by reading books, watching TV or do mylotting until you get sleepy. Outside noises can greatly affect our sleep pattern too. You can try drinking a glass of milk before bed and try not to eat too much at night time.

Ha! Tell me about it. I have experienced that a lot of times.
When that happens I just imagine stuff in my head or go mylot until I get so sleepy, or watch tv or read something good.
maybe some boring books will help you snooze faster ahhaha!
It is best to ignore the time because that will add more pressure for you to sleep and it won't make you sleep any faster.

Yes, i do that.. eat and go to the bathroom before going to bed.. but sometimes more than an hour passes and i get hungry or feel like going again. I will try that- tiring myself all day, since i don't normally have heavy chores.. i just sit on the computer.

LOL! Same here. The house is scary at night. I'd run as fast as I can to reach the switch! To avoid that, you should eat well, prevent being hungry before going to bed and go to the bathroom to relieve yourself before going to bed.
Try listening to relaxing music too.
If none of this work, you can keep yourself active and moving in the day, so by the time you go to bed, you will be tired and sleeping won't be a problem.

I hate when I have sleepless nights like these! Sometimes it takes forever to fall back back to sleep and when I do it's just a couple hours before the alarm is due to go off!
When I have a restless night sometimes to get to sleep I'll take a hot bath, drink a warm cup of hot chocolate with milk, take an over the counter sleep aid or take a couple Motrin. Sometimes all one of the above, sometimes all of the above.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble sleeping, hope you can relax and have sweet dreams!

I don't watch horror movies anymore...eversince I realized it doesn't do me any good to be stressed out when faced with something that would excite me hugely and make my heart beat fast. I would rather watch comedy or love story but never a horror movie. Although in the past, I did watch a lot of horror movies, (I remember I once became a fan of horror movies too..) I never had any sleepless nights. I have never had any problems sleeping. Whenever you could not sleep at night, especially after watching a horrible horror movie, try to think of all the wonderful things that make you happy and content. Just try it next time. :)

Horror movies never keep me up or bother me in anyway. My problem is another sleep med change that isn't working. This time it's Ambien and I woke up at 1:30 am and can't get back to sleep. I can't lay in bed awake once I'm up I'm up for the day...which is going to make today a horrible day because I will be tired all day.
